Blackmailed teacher stories

Writing Journal: Writing and editing away. The Adjusters #64 is coming along, but slowly. Beats me why. I'm also trying to clean up my notes for the second half of the overall story line. Time to bring everything together.

There was a story posted to Literotica maybe a week ago, A Teacher Blackmailed, by Mickyg85: “Beautiful teacher gets blackmailed by geeky student.” The story goes through the usual beats for this kind of tale, but it's competently done, and pretty hot. I'm hoping it continues.

But the story mainly brought to mind the classics in that sphere, that of beautiful and sexy teachers shamelessly taken advantage of.

One of my favorite is The Last Class, by Pamela, because I love anything Pamela writes.

Vulgus is Vulgus with the story The Teacher's a Pet.

Victoria's Blackmail by Ug is also good, and was recently concluded.

Summer's Blackmail by Wilcox010 is a long meandering tale that has some beautiful hot scenes.

Joan's Year of Changes by Engywwok is deliciously twisted.

Let's end with a classic. Owned Teacher by Thumb was one of the earliest long dark teacher blackmail tale I remember reading.

Two Dark Stories To Start Off The Year

Writing Journal: And we are back for a new and exciting year. May it suck less than the last one. I randomly hacked on The Adjusters #29/30 over the Holidays, whenever family and social obligations permitted. And after more than 25000 words written (that's a quarter of a novel in some genres—hard to believe—I mean I know I overwrite but still...) I think I know where to split off #29 and #30. I was hoping that a plum little cliffhanger would show up, and lo and behold, out of nowhere, one did.

There wasn't a lot of smut reading over the Holidays, sadly, but I can still report on a couple of interesting stories over at Djian Understories.

The first story is Mattwatt's Vanessa and the White Knights: “Vanessa, assistant dean of admissions at a modern university, is grabbed by a group of students called the White Knights and added to their slave gallery.” A nicely twisted dark story, complete with domination, slavery, dogs, and beautiful girls being passed around like property. And it weirdly enough still manages to be romantic. Well, in a way—a somewhat twisted depraved way. This is good old trashy fun.

The second story is Ug's Victoria's Blackmail: “Photos are discovered of a teacher, and used against her.” (The story is also hosted on Literotica). I have a soft spot for blackmail stories, as any of you that has spent any amount of time on this blog knows, and this one has not only blackmail but blackmail of a hot young high-school teacher. This story is ongoing, but the buildup in the first four chapters is fantastic. Not too slow, not too fast, and the author distills the goodies like a sadistic booze runner during the prohibition.

There's a long smut tradition of abusing teachers using blackmail and other forms of coercion. I mentioned H. Dean's Object of Affection in the past. Pamela, one of my favorite authors, has one as well, called The Last Class: "A submissive high school teacher is so taken with one of her students that she can't stop herself from giving him her body, her will, her very life," although it's less about coercion and more about submission. There are other stories on that theme, of course, including a couple of mind-control stories that I remember, but I cannot retrace them easily right now. Any suggestions of stories to read on that subject posted in the comments will be highly appreciated, certainly by me, and probably by others as well.

Some Serious Books

And we're back after a little unscheduled outage from Blogger. I don't think we've suffered any loss here, but if you run across anything that seems to be missing, please drop me a quick email.

Meanwhile, I've been working hard on a section in an upcoming episode of The Adjusters that explains a bit more about Cindy's backstory, and it looks like that episode is going to cap the 12K words, with no obvious place to split it in two. I'm just hoping I'll be able to whittle it down some during editing.

I've gotten a question or two by email about my process for writing. It's pretty simple, really. My goal is to put down 400 words a day -- usually first thing in the morning. Much less than that and nothing gets written, and much more than that and I burn out on the story. (Unless it's a one-shot short story.) I know, 400 sounds like a weird number. It just happens to be exactly two pages in my working notebook, given the size at which I write. Yes, I write The Adjusters longhand, in a notebook. It's the only way I can write smut, with a (good) pen. There's something physical about writing smut for me, and that requires contact of pen to paper, and the gentle flow of the pen moving along. Which does mean that at some point I need to type up what I've written into a word processor -- that's the long and boring bit. Of course, I do some editing on the fly while typing, so the time's not completely wasted, and it forces me to read every single word back. At least I've learned to edit my prose on the computer itself, as opposed to printing out reams of text. I'm thinking though that it might be time for me to try again to see if I can't write directly on the machine. Maybe I'll try to write the next episode that way, see what happens.

At the end of last week I finished reading T. J. Parsell's book Fish: A Memoir of a Boy in a Man's Prison, wherein he recounts how, when he was seventeen, he was sent to state prison in Michigan for robbing a photomat and on the first day was raped and then given to one inmate as the result of a coin toss. An arresting memoir, and fairly well written at that, but most importantly a fascinating look into a completely different world for me.

People I know that have seen me read this book have asked me why I picked it up. A good question. I could not, for many of them that do not know of my alternate life, give them the real answer, which is that I wanted to make sure that I was still human. Let me explain that bit. I write smut as a way to wind down, and also to explore some of my more twisted fantasies. And a lot of that involves callous mind control of people, something that doesn't rate very high on the consent scale, especially in the cases where the victims are aware of what's going on but cannot do anything to help it (for instance, Trish in The Adjusters #9). That's all fantasy, of course. But I feel I need to check, once in a while, that real accounts of rape and sexual exploitation still touch me, move me, disturb me. I'm happy to report, they do.

What I find intriguing, though, from a purely psychological perspective, and up to a point literary perspective, is how a text such a Parsell's can be completely unarousing, while at the same time something like Property of Devil's Outlaws by Just2twisted or even better Madame Justine by Karel can be considered arousing. (I'm venturing on thin ice here -- I do like those stories, but I realize they are somewhat extreme, and definitely not to everyone's taste.)

There is something different between stories written to arouse and those that do not, even when they focus on the same idea -- the tone of voice, the details to which the writers decide to pay attention, the perspective. I'd love to see an analysis of what makes a piece of fiction arousing and what makes it not so. Certainly, the expectation that the reader brings to the piece has got to enter the picture somewhere, lending some credence to post-modernist analysis. The only thing I remember reading about this is an old essay by Umberto Eco on what differentiates pornography from more literary endeavors, and one of his comments was that pornography often focused on 'the instants between', the parts that are often skipped in normal stories such as moving from one scene to another. I should read it again. If any of you folks can point me to some discussion along those lines, feel free to post a link or a reference in the comments. Fascinating stuff.

The book that I started since finishing the one above is Sheherazade Goes West: Different Cultures, Different Harems by Fatima Mernissi. If you remember your classics, Sheherazade is of course the storyteller in One Thousand and One Nights, the wife of King Shahryar, who forestalls her execution by telling the king a tale every night that would end on a cliffhanger, forcing the king to let her live one more day to hear the end of the tale. Mernissi, who is a Moroccan feminist writer and sociologist, uses the astonishingly different perspective on Sheherazade that the East -- the arab world -- and the West share to give a highly personal and somewhat meandering discussion of the relationship between men and women in the Judeo-Christian tradition and the Muslim tradition. For all their differences, there is a similarity: men are afraid of women, in the sense that The Other is frightening, a fairly innocuous psychological statement. But the two traditions have approached the problem of how to deal with that fear differently. Haven't finished the book yet, and I'll need to digest it some before being able to talk about it further.

To end with a note of levity, any talk of Sheherazade on this blog will invariably lead to a pointer to the story Chicago Sheherazade by Pamela, in which protagonist Nina needs to prevent mob boss Dino Farelli from killing her by -- you guessed it -- telling him tales to satiate his need for rough and perverted sex. An extremely well-crafted story. (As you all know by now, I'm a big fan of Pamela.)

A Couple of Dark Submission Stories, and a New One by Pamela

Finished a draft of The Adjusters #20, which ended up being a big sex scene. And I'll need to let it rest for a bit because it's still very rough. Which is good, because I need a break. Aside from finishing to type up #15 and revising it for posting, no sex writing for the rest of the month.

I was reminded late last week of a story that I first read a couple of years ago that I always found deliciously perverse. Again, a fairly clichéd setup: the girl with the submissive streak that is not aware of it, at least at first. What's cool with this story is the way in which the girl discovers that she has that submissive streak: by noticing that some guys are trying to slip her roofies, but playing along nonetheless. There's pretty twisted stuff in there. It's by Danielle, on BDSM Library, a story called Roffeless: "A smart girl thinks she has outwitted a couple of sleazballs, but the game she plays leads her down into depravity and ruin." And upon rereading that story, I discovered there was a sequel, just as nasty as the original! Barb's Fall From Grace: "Barb, our heroine, rebels against her submissive nature... Will she succeed in recovering her self-respect and self-worth?"

The writing is a little bit rough around the edges, but makes up for it in filthiness. If you're still on board after those two stories, try another of Danielle's pieces, Lynsey's Game: "Lynsey is a sweet girl who has always had things her own way. So the thought of a little danger excites her. On the internet, she begins to play an exciting little game, thinking that she's safe. But she's not..." That one is a couple of notches higher on the darkness scale, playing somewhat fast and lose with the notion of consent. But pretty hot, in a mind-fucking sort of way.

Last but not least, I was delighted to see a new story by Pamela tonight! It's Discipline Maintained: "'Would you like to watch me chastise her, John?' said the English ambassador...speaking of his wife." A different voice for this one, and if you're up on your classics, you'll recognize both the voice and the title too. (And if not, there's a not-so-subtle hint in the story itself.)

A New Story by Pamela

Still hacking on The Adjusters #18, which looks like it is going to be on the longish side (10000 words or so). I'd love for the episodes to be 6000-8000 words, but as you have undoubtedly noticed, I tend to overwrite. (And you see them after they've been edited down by the requisite 10% as per Stephen King...)

Meanwhile, I just noticed a few days ago that Pamela has a new story out, Over the Top, "a story in which both the author and her characters go way too far." This is way directly darker than her usual stuff, so I should warn you. Not for the faint of heart, or easily squicked. Do check the tags on the story.

Now, Pamela is one of my favorite authors of all time, and just like another of my favorites, Parker, she can do no wrong. Everything she's written that I've been able to put my grubby hands on has been well written, hot, and twisted just so. She (I'm assuming here) has this amazing ability to give life to characters that are essentially slaves to their kinks, in a way that is both realistic and eminently enjoyable. At least for us. For them, well, that's less clear. But I'd have to say yes, for them too. Which is a big part why the stories are so hot, or at least, why they work with me. The only downside is that she makes me realize how much better writing can be than I can achieve. But I'll live.

If you want to sample some of her work, here are some of my favorites. (And narrowing it down is difficult, as I said, it's all amazingly good.)

The Long Slow One, "Ellen has secret needs which her husband can't or won't satisfy. Lilah is a different story, but she can't help the fact that her husband can make her climax on command." Lilah -- the way she is both resigned to her fate and at the same time craving what her husband can give her is mind boggling.

In the News, "Newspaper editor encounters various aspects of female submission." That barely scratches the surface. The character of Stella, who lets herself be completely controlled by the narrator because she can't help it and because it turns her on so much, is perhaps the best of the lot in all of the recent stories I've read. The scene where she is given away to her date... Just... wow.

Noel, Noel, "Noel is blackmailed--or is she?--by a coworker at her office, but her home life is even more complicated, with her sadistic father and captive sister." More office shenanigans. This is one of those stories that just when you think you know where it's going, BANG, you get whacked on the head by a big pile of awesome. And sadistic in the above description seems way to weak as a qualifier for the father.

Simon Says, "It occurred to me that just about all the women who suffer in my stories are either helpless, unwilling victims or compulsive masochists who crave the pain and degradation they receive. I wanted to write a story about a woman who fell into neither of those categories--and about the things we do for love." As the description says. The scene with Jason the chauffeur is just perfect.

Taxi to Torture, "Young couple discover D/s with the help of an older couple and their friends. They like it." And so do we. One of the first Pamela stories I've read, and still one of my favorites. Emma's a great character, of course, but Patricia -- the way Patricia discovers her own submissive side is just amazing.

All of these are a good take-off point. They will certainly give you a sense of Pamela's writing. And if you like those, then you will like the rest of her repertoire. And you'll be in for a treat.
