Two Stories at Both Ends of a Spectrum

Writing Journal: Hacking away at The Adjusters #32. I've just finished writing the second of three scenes, and I don't particularly like it. It's slow, expository, and does less than I'd like it to do. I'll write the third scene, then come back to it. Maybe the second and third scenes can be merged... This might be my first hint that I need to plot Book III a bit more carefully. I have it all in my head, and it's much less involved than Book II—I predict six installments—but perhaps I should diagram it or something, to make sure it actually makes sense installments-wise.

There's a new story on Vulgus's page at Storiesonline, My Stepson the Psychopath: “ A young single mother of a thirteen year old girl finally meets the man of her dreams. But her dream is turned into a nightmare when she falls prey to her fifteen year old stepson.” A twisted tale, even darker than what's usual from Vulgus. I liked the beginning more than the balance of the story, although I admit to really liking the manacle tattoo in Chapter 11. Some underage stuff in there—although not particularly emphasized, as in, the character could be eighteen and it wouldn't change much to the story—as well as bestiality.

If you want to cleanse your palate after that one, check out the somewhat sweeter story by Grant McCloud, How my neighbor turned me into a pimp. No description, but the title plays that role nicely. The story's in the alt.sex.stories.moderated usenet group via Google Groups, which has some interesting stuff in it still.

Darting In For a Story

Writing Journal: Looks like The Adjusters #28 stirred some controversy. Not overly surprising, given what happens in it. I have to say, it was really creepy to live inside the head of a really disturbed man for the week it took to write the Trish scene. On a more pleasant note, I'm about halfway through #32, which starts with the sex scene—in media res, baby—and then segues into the plot, which needs to bring readers up to speed a little bit. I've always found it difficult to write exposition in such a way that it's not utterly boring. We'll see if I can pull it off. By the way, Book III is to be entitled Do You Take This Woman?

I'm way too busy with a project at work, and I've hardly had the time or even the inclination to think smut these last few weeks, as weird as that sounds. So not only will my posts continue to be infrequent, they may be incoherent as well.

I watched an interesting movie last week, where the term interesting can be read in various ways: Little Deaths, a 2011 horror movie that is really three short movies in one, with a sort of unifying theme, namely the union of horror and kink. It has received somewhat conflicting reviews, but if you enjoy weird twisted horror stories with an undertone of sex, have a look. The third story, in particular, I found psychologically fascinating.

Lon Ryden, who illustrates Dr. Faustus's Tales of Gnosis College comics (The Apsinthion Protocol, Study Abroad) has an interesting series of one-shot illustrations under the theme They Want Our Women!. Love them!

I'll leave you with a story—not a great story, but one that's honest in its focus on mind control and incest, Listening To Jack, by Mister Arioch: “Emily’s brother gives her a special set of earphones to listen with.” And poor Emily is soon on her way to become a loving companion to her geeky brother, and she's not alone on this one-way ride. Some nice scenes, dirty aplenty.

New Story: The Adjusters #28

Here is May's installment of The Adjusters, “DIK-Bash”, wherein the long-awaited party gets underway, and various characters come together, with various outcomes.

Warning: this installment contains scenes that may be disturbing to younger readers.

As usual, comments welcome.

I'll also remind you that we have a Speculation Thread available for discussion. (A thread which I read but do not comment on.)

The Adjusters #28 - DIK-Bash

Daniel was nervous as he climbed the front steps of the Delta Iota Kappa fraternity house right behind Jackson. He tugged at the black scarf with eye holes that he had wrapped over the upper half of his face in the manner of Zorro, and adjusted the heavy sash that crossed his chest. He was fidgeting, he knew, but could not really help it. His main focus was devoted to fighting the sense of dread that was suffusing him since he had donned this pirate's costume and met up with Jackson--dressed as Thor from the current Marvel movies.

The mission for the evening was clear: get in, locate Jenn and Kyra, subdue them with the narcotic-laced needleless syringe he had stashed away in an inside pocket, then get them out of the house to bring them to Doctor Cargyle so that he can cure them. They could deal with Biff and the rest of the sorry bunch afterwards, possibly even saving the other girls. Like Serena. Daniel cringed at the thought that he would not be able to do anything for her tonight, but he swore that he would get her out from under the brothers' thrall before the week was out.

When Jackson was stopped by the bouncer at the door of the house, Daniel stepped up next to him. The large man asked for tickets, which Jackson presented promptly. The bouncer took them, glancing at the fraternity ring on Jackson's finger, and then examined the tickets, running them under a portable light that illuminated thin concentric purple circles hidden in the paper. He examined the tickets for a long time, once in a while glancing up at Jackson and Daniel, sizing them up. He finally handed them back, asked for the two young men to give him the back of their hands, and he stamped them with what had to be an invisible stamp.
