Writing Journal: Slow week. Little writing done. Mostly trying to structure my current story, trying to reign it in and keep it from turning it into a 200,000 words epic, while pondering Book III of The Adjusters.
I didn't have much time to prepare a post this weekend, so I'll just point you all to a smut author that some of you probably already know, Caesar, with a cache of good stories that go back at least a decade. There's a lot there, so check out his index file for some guidance.
Mind-control fans undoubtedly know Caesar best for his story The Sweet Smell of Lust: “A young man's lab experiment gets some interesting results.” And by interesting results, you can bet that it includes driving women mad with lust. It's a long story, with a great premise, and some interesting directions. Incest aplenty, though, as our young man's first victims include members of his immediate family. The version on Caesar's site is longer, including a final part not present at the EMCSA. You can read the whole thing here, in five parts: Young Man's Experiment, Start Of A Dynasty, Struggle For Power, New Generation, and Final Struggle.
Many of Caesar's stories involve either incest or cheating spouses, and sometimes involve mind control—more often than note in service of either incest or cheating spouses! Along those lines, you should check out She Is Mine And I Want Her Back: “Realizing that his wife is cheating on him with her own son and that his son is using some kind of drug to turn his mother into his sex slave, he wants her back.” And also Little Taste Of Me: “With but a taste of his seed, his wife and his sister-in-law do everything he asks.”
Straight up incest, with a twist—Is She The Slut I Told Her She Was?: “Years before, he comes upon his buddy with a masked, bound and freshly-fucked woman whom he enjoys as well - he discovers her identity accidentally.”
Although my personal favorite is probably The News Business: “When a news reporter discovers that she is about to be replaced with a newer version, she decides to convince her boss otherwise.” Sweet, sweet, sweet.

Author Spotlight: Daphne
Writer's Journal: I've played host this week to the flu that's been going around this neck of the woods, and I'm pleased to report that it's enjoyed its stay enormously and will call again. All of that by way of explaining my lack of Wednesday post. But all is not lost, as I've started editing The Adjusters #22, which should be out on time this month.
Once in a while, I'll do what I like to call an Author Spotlight, which is just a grandiose term—because we've all realized by now that I just love grandiose terms—for letting you know about a smut author I like. There's a bunch of them in the pipe, and I'll drop them in whenever they spring to mind.
Today's is Daphne, which many of you that peruse the EMCSA undoubtedly know already. Daphne's been one of my favorite authors for a long time. She's also one of the most infuriating ones, at least from my perspective. You have to understand: whereas I will spend 30000 words to bring my readers to feel a particular way about one of my characters—and even then it's just an approximation of what I really want them to feel—Daphne manages to achieve a greater effect, deliver a harder punch, and make your head spin faster in 1/300th of the space. She's the kind of author that makes you despair to write anything halfway decent ever again. Here are some of my favorites stories of hers that illustrate my point:
Above That Ye Are Able: “Stan accidentally discovers the trigger phrase that turns his girlfriend into a hypnotized sex zombie.” One of my favorite MC story ever. The one I go back to when I feel that maybe I've outgrown that particular kink, and bang it puts me right back to square one, drooling like a little baby.
Make Up Sex: “A man describes to his girlfriend what he would do if he were able to hypnotize her.” A gem at under 2000 words. Almost all dialogue on top of that, just to add to the difficulty. Viddler made a specialty of dialogue-only stories, and this one by Daphne is one of the few that approaches his level of mastery.
Talked Me Into It: “A wife tells a female marriage counselor how her husband is able to persuade people to do things, and then the husband demonstrates.” A classic setup, a classic outcome, all done masterfully.
In Evil Company: “When a diabolical conspiracy targets a well-known actress as their next victim, could the whole operation be ruined?” Come on, who can resists diabolical conspiracies? This story made me wish that there was more stories exploring that universe.
Under New Management: “Lisa, a prostitute, is expecting a to meet a customer, but instead meets her new owner.” Wonderful play on the thin line separating prostitutes and mind-controlled slaves. If anyone wanted to seriously explore the psychology of the mind-control fetish, I think that line would be a fertile starting point.
Maid, To Order: “Katie, a pretty young housekeeper, is reprogrammed by subliminals to be a slave to three male roommates.” Another classic setup, exceedingly well done. The induction in this one is also particularly hot, even though inductions rarely do it for me.
Enough gushing. Go read some of her work, it speaks for itself.
Now, the reason why Daphne's been on my mind recently is because we just got an announcement that Mind Control Comics is back! The following is snatched from MC Forum:
Mind Control Comics specializes in high-quality online adult comics with in-your-face mind control, featuring stories written by Daphne, and illustrated by various folks. All eminently readable, and some of the series are particularly effective at getting my blood flowing:
Bearing Gifts: “Mark and David are visiting a hypnotized, brainwashed prostitute… but what’s happening to David’s girlfriend Rowan while they’re having their way with the hooker?” Five stories in the series, and an additional five in the Found Objects related series.
Beyond Rubies: “Julie has started wearing a new necklace that promises her more energy and a better figure... but there are certain side-effects for her and her friends...” Two stories in the series, but more are rumored to be on the way.
The Hidden Knowledge: “Daffyd discovers a book that claims to reveal the hidden knowledge of seducing women. It can't actually work, can it?” Four stories currently in the series.
In any event, join, and enjoy. Among other things, the site's made me discover the art of SturkWurk , who's a talented 3D artist. Don't knock it—it's way harder than it looks, as exemplified by the proliferation of bad 3D artwork out there in Smut Land.

(Part of the reason why MCC was gone was due to credit card processing problems. Those seem to have been resolved, although the announcement does point out that they want to make sure the new processing arrangement is stable before going full-speed ahead with production of new titles, but all in all, it's all very encouraging. I'm a big fan, and look forward to renewing my membership.)But what about Mind Control Comics? That's back, too! Memberships are $24.95 per month, or $44.95 for three months. Now, we won't be able to get new content flowing immediately, since we haven't had income to pay artists. Thus, we're giving the following membership bonuses: 1. All memberships (monthly or three-month) purchased through October 31, 2011, will have two free months added to them (monthly memberships will be good for three months, three month memberships for five months). 2. All memberships purchased November 1-30, 2011 will have one additional month added to them for free. 3. After that, we're back to regular schedules.

A New Story by Bluedragon
The usual writing update: still hacking on The Adjusters #19. I'm writing two scenes in parallel for that episode, one with Kyra, one with Jenn, and it's a bit disconcerting because they're so different. I'm going to have to work hard on editing to make sure that the difference comes out clearly.
I saw over the weekend that Bluedragon has started posting a new story to Storiesonline, An Ordinary College Sex Life 2: "The continuation of An Ordinary College Sex Life. Ben, Dawn, roommates, classmates, sisters, sorority girls, strippers, and even a teacher."
Bluedragon is the king of long and sometimes sprawling stories with lots and lots of sex. And once in a while, his stuff manages to touch me the way smut rarely does.
His current story is his eighth story in the "An Ordinary Sex Life" series -- the title a nice tongue-in-cheek jab at the fact that the sex life of the main character in the series, Ben, is all but ordinary. It's a nice series, with some amazing characters (Keira the neighbor, Adrienne, Dayna...), and some incredible scenes. Warning: there's some incest in there. If that's not your cup of tea, skip this and head down to the next paragraph. Otherwise, start with An Ordinary Teenage Sex Life, then An Ordinary Teenage Sex Life 2, then An Ordinary College Sex Life, and then you're caught up for the story I pointed you to at the top there. You'll thank me.
Now, Bluedragon has another series that I think I actually prefer to "An Ordinary Sex Life", and that's his "John Billionaire" series. The story of John, who runs into a massive inheritance that completely throws his life upside down. Oh, and brings him lots and lots of sex. Did I mention that? Again, some fantastic characters -- Taylor Brynn, need I say more? -- and hot sex all around. Go ahead: start with John Billionaire, then Jeff Thousandaire, then A Billionaire's Life, then Tom Billionaire.
For what it's worth, his stories are what convinced me to try my hand at a long series of my own. His stuff is somewhat less dark than mine, though. Different strokes, right?

A New Story by Pamela
Still hacking on The Adjusters #18, which looks like it is going to be on the longish side (10000 words or so). I'd love for the episodes to be 6000-8000 words, but as you have undoubtedly noticed, I tend to overwrite. (And you see them after they've been edited down by the requisite 10% as per Stephen King...)
Meanwhile, I just noticed a few days ago that Pamela has a new story out, Over the Top, "a story in which both the author and her characters go way too far." This is way directly darker than her usual stuff, so I should warn you. Not for the faint of heart, or easily squicked. Do check the tags on the story.
Now, Pamela is one of my favorite authors of all time, and just like another of my favorites, Parker, she can do no wrong. Everything she's written that I've been able to put my grubby hands on has been well written, hot, and twisted just so. She (I'm assuming here) has this amazing ability to give life to characters that are essentially slaves to their kinks, in a way that is both realistic and eminently enjoyable. At least for us. For them, well, that's less clear. But I'd have to say yes, for them too. Which is a big part why the stories are so hot, or at least, why they work with me. The only downside is that she makes me realize how much better writing can be than I can achieve. But I'll live.
If you want to sample some of her work, here are some of my favorites. (And narrowing it down is difficult, as I said, it's all amazingly good.)
The Long Slow One, "Ellen has secret needs which her husband can't or won't satisfy. Lilah is a different story, but she can't help the fact that her husband can make her climax on command." Lilah -- the way she is both resigned to her fate and at the same time craving what her husband can give her is mind boggling.
In the News, "Newspaper editor encounters various aspects of female submission." That barely scratches the surface. The character of Stella, who lets herself be completely controlled by the narrator because she can't help it and because it turns her on so much, is perhaps the best of the lot in all of the recent stories I've read. The scene where she is given away to her date... Just... wow.
Noel, Noel, "Noel is blackmailed--or is she?--by a coworker at her office, but her home life is even more complicated, with her sadistic father and captive sister." More office shenanigans. This is one of those stories that just when you think you know where it's going, BANG, you get whacked on the head by a big pile of awesome. And sadistic in the above description seems way to weak as a qualifier for the father.
Simon Says, "It occurred to me that just about all the women who suffer in my stories are either helpless, unwilling victims or compulsive masochists who crave the pain and degradation they receive. I wanted to write a story about a woman who fell into neither of those categories--and about the things we do for love." As the description says. The scene with Jason the chauffeur is just perfect.
Taxi to Torture, "Young couple discover D/s with the help of an older couple and their friends. They like it." And so do we. One of the first Pamela stories I've read, and still one of my favorites. Emma's a great character, of course, but Patricia -- the way Patricia discovers her own submissive side is just amazing.
All of these are a good take-off point. They will certainly give you a sense of Pamela's writing. And if you like those, then you will like the rest of her repertoire. And you'll be in for a treat.

Author Spotlight: Vulgus
A quick update first. I did finish the first draft of The Adjusters #13 yesterday. It's clocking at upwards of 8000 words, 1500 of which were taken from my original version of that episode from two years ago, the rest new. No wonder it took a while, for an episode that was supposed to already be written. But at least I'm happy with it now. Next, a couple of editing passes.
Meanwhile, I'm almost done with #17. My aim has always been to have at least one sex scene in every episode, but for that one, I found it difficult to work one in. Part of the problem is that the episode is a transitional one (it's tentatively called "Intermissions"). But I think I figured a way out of that hole. We'll see how it's received.
I'm about to start on #18, which hadn't existed in my head until earlier this week. I want to use it to illustrate the life of the dick girls, and give some cheap thrills in the process. My working title is "A Day in the Life". Should be fun to write, and it will segue into the seven episodes making up the back end of Book II. But first, I need your help.
Informal Poll: In #18 I'd like, among other things, to give a couple of scenes of Serena and Kyra being used by the Delta Iota Kappa brothers as they go about their business. My question to you: is there anything you'd like to see? I have some ideas, but I'm happy to consider opinions from the gallery. As usual, no promises, but if something catches my fancy I'll happily work it in.
In my last post I talked about blackmail stories. Here, I'd like to focus on an author that has made blackmail stories his speciality. (I'm assuming male here, but I admit to having absolutely nothing on which to base this assumption. I'm happy to be corrected.)
I discovered Vulgus maybe two years ago, completely by accident, on some random site that does not exist any longer, and rediscovered him through the Dijan Understories archive, where many of his stories are archived. More of his stories are available through Storiesonline.
Vulgus is quite prolific, and his tales tend to run long, which is something I love. I believe that really hot stories derive from getting to know the characters and care for them, which requires some room. That's not to say that short stories cannot be hot, of course, just that the mechanisms involved there are more subtle, and probably rely much more on the author connecting with something that's already there within the reader. But I digress.
I think of Vulgus a little bit like I do of Stephen King -- he has a few basic storylines he really likes, and he recrafts them into endless variations that maintain their own individuality. But you get the feeling that it's that way because that's the stories he enjoys telling, and he could write something else if he wanted to, and it'd be just as great -- he just chooses not to.
And that's fine with me. There are some real gems in his collection. Not all his stories are about blackmail, but many are. And they are rather rough; nonconsensual sex does occur with nontrivial frequency, so be warned. Here are some favorites of mine, in no particular order:
I Belong to Snake Now: A naive young wife who spends too much time home alone begins to explore the internet for the first time. After a few relatively harmless chats she finds herself being blackmailed into becoming a sex slave to a big bad biker.
My Rival Wins; My Wife and I Lose: A not so friendly childhood rival becomes the employer of a young couple and fakes some documents and photos to blackmail them with. He abuses the young wife in order to torment the husband, his lifelong rival.
A Bad Reaction: A young mother is falsely accused of a crime and convicted. She becomes a pawn and a sexual toy to an unscrupulous Parole Officer, she and her daughter both. EDIT: Someone reminded me that this story contains an underage character. To be honest, I tend to ignore that part and focus on what happens to the mother, but you may want to skip this story if that sort of thing squicks you.
A Lesson in Social Justice: A young couple are taught a lesson in race relations when a black man moves in next door.
Amanda's Continuing Education: A young female high school counselor is seduced by one of the young students she is mentoring. His accomplice records the affair with a video camera and the young woman is forced into sexual servitude.
Brian is Gone: Kim's husband is stationed in Iraq. She is drugged while attending a friend's birthday party. She is raped and filmed in compromising positions and blackmailed.
Brooke Can't Drink: An awful lot of bad things happen to a young wife as a result of a little problem she has when she drinks.
The next story is not strictly a blackmail story, but it hits so many of my buttons that I have to include it here.
A Wife with no Options: Ken decides to leave his wife of three years for a long list of very good reasons. In desperation she agrees to do anything and everything he asks of her if he will just stay with her. He puts her to the test, with the idea of getting some revenge. Maybe he should have done that three years ago!
How about you? Which is your favorite Vulgus story?

I have just learned a valuable lesson. It has been, and continues
to be, a very costly lesson. Let me tell you about it.
My name is Ashley. I am 22, 5'6", 115, bright red hair, and as of
just over a year ago, very married. I met my husband in college
and we married as soon as I graduated last year. He graduated a
year ahead of me and is already well on his way to being the next
Donald Trump. Except for the hair of course. [...]
My Rival Wins; My Wife and I Lose: A not so friendly childhood rival becomes the employer of a young couple and fakes some documents and photos to blackmail them with. He abuses the young wife in order to torment the husband, his lifelong rival.
Ray and I had known each other all of our lives. Our parents were
best friends and next door neighbors so we didn't have any choice
but to try and get along. But for some reason, and I don't know
if either one of us could say what it was, we never liked each
other. We had maintained an uneasy truce and a less than friendly
rivalry since we started playing together at our parent's
insistence. Even back then though, even at the ages of three or
four we didn't like each other. [...]
I'm not even sure exactly what happened that evening, the evening that it all started. I was on my way up the stairs to my second floor apartment after a long, hard day at work. The elevator was out of service again. It was out more than it worked, so I wasn't surprised. I felt something on my butt and I didn't even think about it, I just reacted instinctively. I turned around and, seeing one of my neighbors behind me I did something that I had never done in my life. I drew back and slapped his face as hard as I could.
I saw the look of surprise on his face as he fell over backwards and rolled down the stairs to fall at the feet of his wife, who had stopped to check the mail. She screamed and that is the last thing that happened that evening that wasn't a part of the big haze. [...]
A Lesson in Social Justice: A young couple are taught a lesson in race relations when a black man moves in next door.
There are people who will not like some of the things that I
write in this story. If you are of the opinion that the south
will rise again (or that it should), if you are convinced that
the American Civil War was fought for financial reasons or to
secure state's rights then I highly recommend that you skip this
story. Some of the things I write here will offend your
sensibilities.
I will admit that a lot of what happened to me is a result of my
racist upbringing. If I had not been raised in a small southern
town by racist parents and if all of my friends had not been
racist I might not have done the things that I did. For it was my
misguided actions that triggered the events that I'm writing
about, events that changed the lives of both me and my husband.
I'm not saying that I deserved what happened to me, or what is
still happening to me. But I can't deny that I brought it on
myself. [...]
Amanda's Continuing Education: A young female high school counselor is seduced by one of the young students she is mentoring. His accomplice records the affair with a video camera and the young woman is forced into sexual servitude.
I am in more trouble than I ever imagined possible. I have always
been very goal oriented and very much in charge of my life. Or at
least I thought I was. I knew from an early age that I wanted to
work with troubled kids in some capacity. I excelled in school
and I was on the honor roll from the first grade until I
graduated from school. I always took the tough subjects and my
grades were perfect so I had no problem getting into the
university that I had my heart set on attending. Even if my
father had not graduated from there I would have had no problems
getting in.
I carried a 4.0 grade average throughout my undergraduate studies
and it seemed like I breezed through my post graduate work in my
chosen field. It was so easy it scared me. Really! When it was
all over and I had my Doctorate I kept thinking, "Is that all
there is?" I had a nagging fear for a while that they were going
to send me a letter some day and tell me that I forgot to do
something to meet some requirement and they had just discovered
it. [...]
Brian is Gone: Kim's husband is stationed in Iraq. She is drugged while attending a friend's birthday party. She is raped and filmed in compromising positions and blackmailed.
It was the first time I had gone out to have a little fun since
my husband had left for Iraq. His National Guard unit had been
called to active duty and before we had time to take a deep
breath he had been gone. He had been gone almost three months and
I was bored to death. All I ever did now was go to work and go
home and watch TV and write letters to my husband. I was a little
upset that I wrote to him every night and I got a letter from him
only once a week, if that.
I knew that conditions were rough over there and that he was
having a hard time of it. But just a note to say that he was okay
and still loved me would have been nice. We had only been married
for a little over a year and I knew he loved me, but I really
worried about him and I wanted a little reassurance. No, I wanted
a lot of reassurance, not so much that he still loved me, I knew
that he did. Rather that he was still alive and uninjured and
holding up alright. [...]
Brooke Can't Drink: An awful lot of bad things happen to a young wife as a result of a little problem she has when she drinks.
Everything seemed to come together at the same time in a terrible confluence of events that seemed destined to destroy me and my marriage. It all stemmed from a series of errors in judgment and very bad choices that quickly added up to a nightmare come true.
The first bad choice was made almost six months earlier. Taken by itself it would have been insignificant. It would have had no effect on my life at all. The small furniture manufacturing business that my husband and I started and have been running fairly successfully almost since we married eight years ago developed a small liquidity problem. It should have been no big deal. It happens to small businesses all the time. [...]
I was furious when I left work. I don't think I had ever been so mad in my life. I had a chance to cool down a little as I dealt with the rush hour traffic. That was not my normal reaction to all of the idiots on the road. By the end of my normal commute I usually wished that I had a pair of fifty caliber machine guns mounted on the front and rear of my car so that I could shoot the idiots around me.
But this evening the crawling traffic had given me time to think and I no longer intended to storm into the house as soon as I got home and start screaming at my wife. [...]
