Writing Journal: Looks like The Adjusters #28 stirred some controversy. Not overly surprising, given what happens in it. I have to say, it was really creepy to live inside the head of a really disturbed man for the week it took to write the Trish scene. On a more pleasant note, I'm about halfway through #32, which starts with the sex scene—in media res, baby—and then segues into the plot, which needs to bring readers up to speed a little bit. I've always found it difficult to write exposition in such a way that it's not utterly boring. We'll see if I can pull it off. By the way, Book III is to be entitled Do You Take This Woman?
I'm way too busy with a project at work, and I've hardly had the time or even the inclination to think smut these last few weeks, as weird as that sounds. So not only will my posts continue to be infrequent, they may be incoherent as well.
I watched an interesting movie last week, where the term interesting can be read in various ways: Little Deaths, a 2011 horror movie that is really three short movies in one, with a sort of unifying theme, namely the union of horror and kink. It has received somewhat conflicting reviews, but if you enjoy weird twisted horror stories with an undertone of sex, have a look. The third story, in particular, I found psychologically fascinating.
Lon Ryden, who illustrates Dr. Faustus's Tales of Gnosis College comics (The Apsinthion Protocol, Study Abroad) has an interesting series of one-shot illustrations under the theme They Want Our Women!. Love them!
I'll leave you with a story—not a great story, but one that's honest in its focus on mind control and incest, Listening To Jack, by Mister Arioch: “Emily’s brother gives her a special set of earphones to listen with.” And poor Emily is soon on her way to become a loving companion to her geeky brother, and she's not alone on this one-way ride. Some nice scenes, dirty aplenty.

A Second Erotic Graphic Novel by Dr. Faustus
Writing Journal: Not much to report. Finishing to edit The Adjusters #26 which will go out tomorrow. Happily, no scenes to rewrite. Everything is in pretty good shape. Meanwhile, my sekrit project is coming along happily, although I've written nearly 8000 words without any sex in it just yet, and I'm hoping that that will not be a test of my readers' patience when the story comes out.
The second erotic graphic novel by Dr. Faustus in his Tales of Gnosis College series, entitled Study Abroad is out. I've talked about the first volume before, and this one can be read independently.
Here's a publication blurb:
Available in several formats. Go get 'em!
The second erotic graphic novel by Dr. Faustus in his Tales of Gnosis College series, entitled Study Abroad is out. I've talked about the first volume before, and this one can be read independently.
Here's a publication blurb:
Prior to traveleing overseas for cultural enrichment and a bit of education, four comely coeds at Gnosis College make a wager among themselves as to which among themselves as to which of them will manage to have the most outrageous adventure. Unknown to them, one of Gnosis’s many mad scientists has found a way to manipulate their minds for his own sinister purposes. Resulting adventures abroad will turn out to be at once more pleasurable — and more dangerous — than any of our heroines might have anticipated. Talk about higher education!
Orientalist Bridget O’Brian will travel to a tiny, wealthy emirate and accept a strange proposal in order to get a very intimate view of the lives of its jaded inhabitants. Biologist Cleo Mount will find at once steamy encounters and that which she most fears in the rainforests of southeast Asia. Politically-engaged Jill Keeney will put her body on the line in a conspiracy against a tyrant. And philosopher Iris Brockman will take a job in the world’s priciest and most decadent mermaid bar, where her provison of unorthodox services will allow her to slake her lust…for knowledge! Which story is most bizzare? I report, you decide.
Available in several formats. Go get 'em!

An Erotic Graphic Novel by Dr. Faustus
Writer's Journal: Almost done with drafting The Adjusters #23. I was hoping to get it done before this weekend trip, but not quite. If all went according to plan (I'm writing this mid-week, and scheduling it for posting on Saturday—we'll see how well that works) I probably finished the last scene in my notebook right about now. File this one under "fun with time warping." [Turns out I couldn't get the automated posting to work, so I'm posting it manually tonight. Sigh. And yes, I did manage to finish the last scene of #23.]
There was a pleasant surprise for me in my RSS feed this week—which some of you probably already know about, but in case not, I am here to share the wealth.
Dr. Faustus, of the blog EroticMadScience.com, has just published an erotic graphic novel based on his screenplay The Apsinthion Protocol, illustrated by Lon Ryden. It is available either as individual volumes in PDF or CBZ or as a single PDF file. And it's free, as we like it.
The Apsinthion Protocol is the first part of a series called Gnosis College—which as the name implies is a weird mix of philosophy, academic research, and sex, with a generous vibe of mad science thrown in. I've read it, enjoyed it, and also read the sequel, Study Abroad. It takes some time to get used to reading screenplays, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty much like any short story, except with more dialogue. I haven't read the third and fourth parts yet, Progress in Research and Invisible Girl, Heroine, but they're next on my list.
I'm pleased to see that Dr. Faustus and Ryden are now producing a graphic novel based on Study Abroad, and the pages are posted on Dr. Faustus's main blog as well as here as they appear.
Have a look, it's worth it.
