Hi gang! Sorry for the silence. The computer at home went kaput, and my old backup laptop couldn't quite run a browser that can handle the Blogger platform. I managed to rig up something up, after a fashion, but I still can't comment on my own blog.
As far as the question that's on most everyone's mind: I'm almost done with the next installment. Update should be coming in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
In the mean time, I've accumulated a bunch of interesting stories, at least from my perverted perspective.
Let's start slow. Over at the EMCSA, we have My New Girlfriend, by Ice Bear: “Drew has a little trouble understanding why his hot new girlfriend Courtney goes to such extremes to please him.” Well paced, with some wonderful set pieces and hot sex. And of course, mysterious mind control, and a somewhat befuddled protagonist.
Over at Literotica, we have Tormenting Tina, by JericoKnight: “An 18-year-old enslaves his history teacher.” Blackmailed teacher — a time-tested trope. This teacher seems to enjoy it, though.
Finally, a weirdly over-the-top long meandering story, that someone reminded me existed, Mother in Law Cannot Resist by MILowner: “Fiona tries to resist her son-in-law's cock but cannot.” This story is not particularly well written, yet it keeps calling me back over and over again. A blackmailed and humiliated woman, who nevertheless cannot help herself. The thing with this story is that while it is linear, the various chapters are scattered about the author's page in alphabetical order. Enough to drive one nuts. But if you go by publication dates, you can restore the appropriate order.

More interactive games
Writing Journal: Progress has been good on The Adjusters #65. Now that I know what Book VI is all about—a realization that struck me two weeks ago—it's going a lot faster. I will not have it ready by March 1st, but should be done by next weekend. Then the conclusion of Book VI, and then on to Jenn to see how she's faring at the House of the Rising Sun.
I've actually been following a few interesting stories here and there, but I'll keep those for the next blog post, and instead point out a couple of interactive stories/games you should be aware of.
I came across this one practically by accident, but it's actually pretty good. Corrupting the Princess. As the author says: “You play as Marcus, a very successful businessman that is about to foreclose on a church when a very tempting offer is dropped in his laps by Aliane, the gorgeous high priestess.” I'll let you guess what the offer is.
Fugue has an ongoing interactive story that he's been giving previews for, Dollars and Sins, which should be pushing many of your mind control buttons. Just a preview, but promising. Interestingly, he is also publishing the straight up story that underlies the game. And that story is in some sense darker. Certainly, the protagonist in the story is a lot more straight up and casual about his use of his magic dollars. In contrast, you can almost feel a hesitancy in the protagonist of the game. Still, both are worth looking at.
Finally, one of my favorite smut artists, Alx, has a game out—really, a proof of concept for his larger game about Hogwarts which we're all really looking forward to seeing!—called Gargoyles: The Beast and the Bitch. Yeah, it's about the TV show Gargoyles. Yeah, I know. But give it a shot. You're welcome.

Catching Up With My Reading
Writing Journal: Sometimes it's good that my writing is a bit slow these days. Earlier this evening, I solved a plot problem I did not even know was bothering me, and which should lead to a nice development later on. Even if it doesn't make it into #64, it will make it in #65.
I haven't read much smut over the Holidays; being around family will do that to you. Still, there are a few things I can mention.
A nice series started on the EMCSA a few months ago, Tolerance by Ice Bear: “Introverted college student DJ suddenly realizes the people around him are suddenly being much more accomodating to him.” Guy with MC power goes on a fun spree (at least, up to the point where I've read it). But it's not of the go-into-yer-head-and-plant-commands variety exactly, which is always nice.
Some of what I've read has been in e-books.
Someone in the comments recommended Kenny Wright's Training to Love It. I have it but have not read it yet. I'm keeping it warm for the right weekend. (Part 2 of 3 is now out I see).
I did read Max Sebastian's The Game. This book is more effective for me than his previous ones—it's a bit darker, for once, which I enjoy in my smut. Sebastian's writing generally leaves me a little bit cold, I do not know why. But he has been more to my tastes lately, and this one keeps in the progression.
And in case you worry I'm striving too far on the hotwife theme in my reading, don't worry. I've greatly enjoyed the first book in Charles Arnold's The Penitent series. It is deliciously (sometimes disgustingly) twisted in places, and hits a lot of buttons I have. I've read Book 1 of 4, and if the rest of the series remains faithful to the first one, I'll be a happy puppy.
Maybe I need a slogan to close off my blog posts. Ain't that what the cool kids are doing these days? Keep on smuttin'. Nah...

Update and Games
It'll be a few more days before The Adjusters #63 comes out. Struggling with the end of the installment a little bit there. I hate when that happens. And to think that Book VI was supposed to be the easy one....
In the meantime, here are a few things that have come through in the comments that you may be interested in.
First off, and I realize this is old news but still, friend-of-the-blog Georg Kinaski, of SelectaCorp fame, has a few new games out in the world that you simply have to check out. His Corporate Raider series is fantastic. Corporate Raider 3 has some incredible build up. I can't say too many good things about it. You can find links on his Tumblr page, and he has a Patreon as well.
Also filed under interactive games, I was pointed towards a couple of mind-control centered games being written by Fugue. The easiest to get is Heavy Petting, in very early release. It's a blast, even though the interface is a bit cranky. Fugue has a Patreon as well, because hey, who doesn't these days? :)
Story-wise, have a read through Pan's My Car, My Rules: “A man plays a subliminal tape for his carpooler.” I'm usually not a huge fan of Pan's stories—they're technically flawless, but they don't really hit my spots—but this one I like a lot.

Update on The Adjusters #62
I'm on the road until after Labor Day, meaning I probably won't be able to post The Adjusters #62 until then.
To keep you distracted, enjoy the following stories.
From the EMCSA, Pan's My Car, My Rules: “A man plays a subliminal tape for his carpooler.”
Remaining in the mind-control genre, but mixed with fantasy (not usually my cup of tea), ImperatorMentus's The Goblin King: “After her order is enslaved, a knight seeks revenge.”
A new chapter of Wilcox010's Summer's Blackmail came out this summer: “Slut teacher gets tattoos and piercings.”
Blackmail and cuckolding in Facade123's Tantalus: “A gambler loses control of his life to another man.”
Finally, if you like your smut really hard and nasty, check out an oldie, Dom Master's Like Mother, Like Daughter at BDSM Library: “Carla’s heart raced at the realization that her little baby girl was about to be forced to suck off this brutal man. In her mind’s eye, she could see her young mouth stretch open to accommodate the foul intruder. She had performed oral sex herself a couple of times, but did not care for it; there was always a musky smell that just seemed too perverted. And now her little girl was experiencing that aroma first hand.”

Hodgepodge of Stories
Writing Journal: Looks like The Adjusters #59 will be delayed until next weekend—still some work to do on it. Thanks for your patience.
I've been pondering why the stories in Book V have been so much more difficult to write than the previous ones, and I think it's because the way I set things up, every story in Book V is essentially its own unit, and there's a fair amount of context-switching overhead every time I start a new one. For previous books, aside from book transitions, everything in an installment essentially flowed from the previous one, and I could ride the wave. Here, not so much.
Thankfully, Book V is almost done. Only one more installment after #59. And you can all guess whom it's about, since there's only one character we haven't really seen in V yet...
To keep you entertained during the wait, here are stories that I've caught my attention this past month.
Jaycuck has started a new story, Ripples in a Cuckolds Pond: “Nick, Nicole, and David - A Beginning.” A follow-up to his The One Less Traveled By which I thoroughly enjoyed. This is looks promising, since David looks to be much more dominant and forceful than Colin ever was.
I should also note that Jaycuck has a book out on Smashwords, Shattered Crystal, that seems to hit some interesting themes. I've only read the 20% free sample, and I'm on the fence. I'll probably eventually buy it: “Tim and Crystal were blissfully happy together, until Shane moved into their trailer park. The outlaw biker was mysterious, a little dangerous, and ruggedly handsome. Crystal was instantly fascinated by his sexy body and no-holds-barred lifestyle. Shane was happy to fulfill their sexual fantasies…and then introduce Crystal to the steamy world of stripping, Meth addiction, and drug trafficking!”
Into the Deep by One2many: “Prim and proper wife begins lusty journey into slutdom.” As the description says. Some nice idea in this first chapter. Promising.
Marin's Tale by Jawanaut: “A little bit of background.” The Literotica description says nothing. But it's the usual setup: husband want his wife to fool around with others, and she agrees. As of now, pretty well done, if fast. Promising.
User Friendly by Interstitial: “Sara signs up for a three month test of a new high-tech entertainment product prototype. The money is good – but what exactly is the product?” A straight up mind-control story that gets in fast and remains hot throughout. Very well done.
Dreamscape by Darbreslo: “A young scientist is enlisted to create a mind altering drug.” A bit of a slow start, but a very promising setup.
Comments Are Enabled by Villanova: “A girl makes a video, and it has unwelcome consequences.” Twisted, and I'm not sure where the author can go with this, but I love the idea.

Happy New Year
Happy New Year everyone!
I suck at doing retrospectives, but overall, 2014 was a good year. And 2015 looks like it's not going to be too shabby either.
Resolutions? The only one that applies here is more writing. At some level, it's just schedule and discipline. Let's make it a concrete goal: put out something else than just The Adjusters this year. I got plenty of projects started. I just need to finish one of them. More on that later.
Speaking of the devil: I'll post the next installment of The Adjusters when I get back from my New Year's travels, after this weekend.
In the mean time, here's an MC story I had not noticed the first time around but that's pretty nice and twisted: Apex by Deviant Lizzie: “Growing up Eric had always been an awkward child, but as he goes from his teens into adulthood he finds himself becoming something more than a normal man. Developing heightened physical abilities, a superior intellect, and a strange control over women, Eric struggles to find the secrets behind who he is and his destiny.”

Three Stories
Writing Journal: Happy progress on The Adjusters #56. Funny how those things go, really: #55 was tough to write, even though the plot was actually pretty simple, while #56 is much easier, even though the plot is a bit more involved. That sound you don't hear is me shaking my head in dismay.
Taking a second for some drive-by posting.
This month I've been following two stories, one of which ended a week or so ago.
Over at Literotica, favorite author Thadsgood wrapped up a steamy story Briana's Basic Nature: “Bree begins to rediscover her true nature.” Typical Thadsgood. Hot, twisted, and punching you right in the stomach.
Over at Storiesonline, Hush has a Master PC story with some nice scenes, Master PC: A Firm Hand: “Harper McLain liberates a copy of the Master PC program from his depraved neighbor who had used it to turn his wife into a mindless sex toy. After returning her to the way she was and erasing all evidence of his neighbor's actions, can Harper make good on his promise to rid himself of the program forever?” I like the notion of a reluctant controller, or at least one that attempts to resist his baser impulses. This is ongoing.
Finally, a fantastic story over at the EMCSA, User Friendly, by Zrorrim50: “Sara signs up for a three month test of a new high-tech entertainment product prototype. The money is good – but what exactly is the product?” Pretty girl brainwashed without her knowledge, but in full view. That story is the perfect length, and the perfect pace.

Princess Trainer
Writing Journal: Happily hacking away on The Adjusters #55. I should be further ahead than I am, but I'm still on track to finish for the end of the month. Still wish I had a bit more of a buffer, but at least, until the end of Book V, I know what all the plot lines are. Also: 1000 words is not that much. Either that, or I way overwrite.
I spent the few hours before bed this week playing Akabur's Princess Trainer, and holy fuck does that game push all of my buttons!
I suspect most of you have heard of it already.
If not, the story's simple enough. It takes place in Disney's Aladdin universe, and Jafar is in power. He had tasked you with the job of training Princess Jasmine, which he intends to marry, so that she is nice and obedient and submissive for the wedding. Your job, basically, is to break her.
The game has no time limit, and is quest-based. The graphics are excellent, though they are not interactive. But it's the narrative that ends up pushing the game beyond a curiosity for cartoon perverts. It's gripping and quite dark despite the omnipresent humor. And it's pretty linear (meaning that Akabur can actually control the story) but the quests can be done essentially independently, adding just the right level of interactiveness. Did I mention it was quite dark? It's probably not for everyone, but for this guy here, it's pretty damn amazing.
The interface is a bit painful at times—there's some grinding needed in places (not much, thankfully) and the clicking gets tiring, especially if you end up repeating a scene that you've played before and there is no way to shortcut it. Technically, the game is programmed in Ren'Py, which I had not heard of but seems worth checking out if you're the creative sort.
If you're more into traditional storytelling, have a look at a story that I bookmarked a long time ago and that I've now started to read. It's Oceania by Expresso42: “Abducted and mind-wiped by a powerful corporation, Claire Savage is forced to work in an illicit brothel. Escaping sexual enslavement and fighting to regain her memories, she uncovers a shocking secret about her past and a conspiracy that threatens to plunge the world into chaos.” Come on, who can resist a description like that? Note that it's 80% sci-fi and 20% sex. But it's pretty decent sci-fi, and worth reading. (Disclaimer: I'm maybe a third of the way through, so for all I know it may completely drop off the quality cliff before the end.)

Weekend Update
Writing Journal: Almost done with The Adjusters #54. I didn't quite manage to make it standalone, which is a tiny bit of a bummer. But maybe in the coming week I'll get that flash of inspiration that let me close off the installment without dangling too many threads. But irrespectively of that, it's good to spend some time with Cindy again. The girl is a breath of fresh air.
The most relevant thing in my world this last week—because I don't live anywhere near Ferguson—is that we lost two members of our team at work, so things are going to be rock 'n' roll for the next few months.
(Fact is, all of a sudden, it's like I'm back in college, contemplating the upcoming Fall semester and its unwelcome work load.)
The way it will impact you is that I may not be here quite as much. My plan is to drop by on weekends and point out stories I've run across, as usual. The Adjusters should be unaffected, aside from the odd delay when posting might be pushed to a weekend. I'll keep you informed, as I try to do.
On a happier note, here are the stories that are making me happy this week:[1]
Mail Order Mind Control by Caesar (on SOL): “Lonely mom discovers her son wants to drug her, she makes a difficult decision.” Contains incest, but the story itself is well done (as are most Caesar stories) and the sex is hot.
Dangerous Heels by Captainhappy: “Psychology experiment with sex, hypnosis, and a twist.” Weird and a bit confusing, but good.
A discovered a new (but old) author, Evals22. His stories all revolve around the same theme, a housewife that gets turned on by submission and humiliation, and usually not through her own husband. The stories are well written, and they have a definite beginning, middle, and end, and they are hot to boot. (Especially if you like degradation sex with a cuckold bend.) I particularly recommend: Bead Slut, Companion Fare, Therapy, Wife Writer.
[1] shamelessly stolen from a fave radio show.

Update about The Adjusters #53
Just a quick post to warn you all that The Adjusters #53 will be delayed a bit. Some mid-summer scheduling pains, with some unplanned travel to boot. Thanks in advance for your patience.
I'll leave with a story exemplifying less is more. It's Bewitched, by Velvetglove. The story of a man that marries a witch, and the happy sexy shenanigans that ensue. Not a lot of sex, but a lot of sexy scenarios hinting at dark twisted hot stuff. Oh, and of course, mind control. I hope Velvetglove continues the story.

Bits and Pieces
Writing Journal: Still gently slogging through The Adjusters #52 and #53. It's all good, if slow.
Throughout May and June, I'm asking for your input about the sort of kinks you might want to see in The Adjusters.
Sorry for the silence—I was away and also nothing particularly interesting came through my smut feed, except for a few chapters updates to stories that I'm tracking. Might as well get those out of the way.
A new chapter of Ashley's Revenge by TallMarriedMan: “Ashley gives him a gift that she knows his wife never would.” The story is still excellent.
A new chapter of Consequences by Xleglover: “Jen and Mike ‘separate’ and Jen moves in with Frankie.” A straight-up cuckold husband story, one that seems to leave few people unaffected (either in a good way or a bad way), but with some pretty interesting ideas and scenes. Xleglover is a bit of an acquired taste, and recently his stories do sometimes seem to spin without going anywhere. This one is no exception. But I still enjoy it. (Though I wish it went darker than it undoubtedly will go, more like Husband's Fantasy Backfires.)
Finally, a new mind-control story, The Coin by Ryansstory: “Ryan discovers that no good deed goes unrewarded...” Four chapters out at the time of this post, and it seems to be headed in a dark direction. A man finds a coin that gives him mind-controlling powers, but it's not entirely clear that the coin isn't actually controlling him. I'm looking forward to see if it goes anywhere.

The Dangers of Hypnotism in Smut Fiction
Writing Journal: I posted this to MCForum over the week. It summarizes my writing week nicely, trying to write a little happy fluffy shortish tale—something to distract me a bit from the morass of anxieties that is plotting The Adjusters these days:
Throughout May and June, I'm asking for your input about the sort of kinks you might want to see in The Adjusters.
Ran across an oldish story I hadn't read before. Some quite nice twisted scenes, though it veers a bit in the middle. It's Brad, The Hypnotist by Notemale: “A black hypnotist changed our lives forever.”
Here are a few additional stories under that theme of a hypnotist that takes advantage and fucks up a couple.
Georgia by Piscalrotcam: “A dedicated wife is hypnotized and told to forget her marriage. It was her husband’s idea.”
Rewriting History by Wind7sailor: “A married couple meets an old high school friend, who has become a stage hypnotist.”
Not quite as the above, but still good, and short, The Hypnosis King by Jkendale: “Wife & her friend are enjoyed while under hypnosis.”
INT. AUTHOR'S STUDY - NIGHT A dark study illuminated only by a small desk lamp. The floor covered with discarded PAPERS, some crunched into balls, other spread out like leaves in the fall. The AUTHOR is sitting at his desk, writing madly, pen flying over the paper. He's pale, looks malnourished. On one of the sheets of paper, the title of the manuscript. HYPNOSLUTZ. A bottle of scotch on the desk, with a glass. The reward for a successful writing session. Once in a while, he looks at the bottle, longingly. A SHADOW creeps over the desk, unnoticed by the author who keeps on writing. It's the FIRST MUSE. FIRST MUSE (O.C.) (drawling) Darrrrker!... The author nearly jumps out of his chair. Turns around to see a tall figure dressed all in black with a hood peering over his shoulder. The face is not visible. He is pointing at the manuscript. AUTHOR Jesus Christ! You scared the shit outta me! FIRST MUSE Darrrrker!... AUTHOR What? No! I told you, I want this to be— FIRST MUSE Make it darrrrker!... AUTHOR —happy, you know? Light, fun, the kind of stuff that people actually enjoy reading. Maybe the stuff that they can read with their kids. Well, you know what I mean. No angst, no fear, no worries. Happy. Light. FIRST MUSE Make it DARRRRKER!... The author, busy arguing with the first muse, does not notice the arm of the SECOND MUSE—slim, feminine, bare—reaching over his other shoulder and pointing at a line on the sheet of paper in front of him. SECOND MUSE (seductive) Make her dirty here... AUTHOR (violently startled) Fuck! What's with you guys? He swivels to look at the second muse, a beautiful blonde with soft blue eyes, wearing a red dress that reveals a whole lot more of her body than is entirely decent even in the privacy of the study. SECOND MUSE (seductive) She's too nice. She gets everything she wants. She's treated well, a princess. You don't want that, do you? I know you. You want to see her do things that in her right mind she would never do. The kind of things that would make a hardened whore blush. The kind of things that no self-respecting woman would ever do for the man she loves, let alone one she hates— AUTHOR Wait a minute! She doesn't hate him! She loves him! FIRST MUSE Darrrker!... AUTHOR Shut up! SECOND MUSE Come on, you know you want to. Use her. Abuse her. She's just a fictional character anyway, right? Turn her into every teenage boy's wildest wet dream. FIRST MUSE Darrrrker!... AUTHOR (blocking his ears) NO! Happy! A shortish light, happy, sex-positive tale! The THIRD MUSE, a little LEPRECHAUN, jumps atop the desk. Bounces about, fingers twirling. THIRD MUSE (high-pitched) Shortish? SHORTISH? (laughs) Nonsense! He bounces some more. Picks up a few sheets of the manuscript. Shoves them in front of the author. Points to three or four places. THIRD MUSE (CONT'D) Here! And here! And here! Change this and that and presto, it's epic! EPIC! Change this and that and it opens up this stupid shitty story like, like... SECOND MUSE (whispering) Like the girl's pussy when the villain shoves his huge cock inside her and ruins her for your silly little hero. FIRST MUSE Darrrrker!.... THIRD MUSE What she says. Come on, you can make it epic, man. You're aiming for what, eight thousand words? Ten thousand? Make it eighty thousand! Eight hundred thousand! Eight million!!! AUTHOR But I already got an epic going. And it's kicking my ass! THIRD MUSE (dancing around the desk, laughing) Wuss! Wuss! Wuss! SECOND MUSE (seductive) Wusssss! FIRST MUSE Darrrrker... The author reaches for the scotch, writing goals be damned.

Mulling Over Possible Futures
Writing Journal: It's been a while I haven't updated you all about the state of the writing. I'm about to finish The Adjusters #50, which is pretty straightforward except for a bit of a plot point that I need to figure out because it's key to something in Book V (as far as I can tell). And then on to #51, which is still fuzzier in my head than I would really like.
In the past few months, I've been getting story ideas that for the first time in a long time, I haven't been tempted to push into The Adjusters's storyline. Which is great because it shows that at some subconscious level, I have a much better sense of where I want the story to go before it winds down to its conclusions.
But that does beg the question: what to do with the extra ideas that are bouncing around in my head? I mentioned some of them before, and at some point I will want to let them out. And I've been meaning to try my hand at self-publishing, like every other smut author out there, so maybe that's one outlet for those extra stories—a good forcing function. I don't know yet. I'm still mulling it over. Would you folks want to know about those if I ever end up publishing them?
Don't worry, though, because whatever happens, The Adjusters will remain free, and will continue coming out in monthly installments. At least, until it's done.
Your reading recommendation for this post is a sweet little mind-control story from ElSol, Your Guardian Angel : “A teenage boy. A lamp. A genie.” Exactly what you expect, yet different. Nice story, great sex, clever development.

Looking for a Mother-Related Story
Writing Journal: Well, I thought I was done with The Adjusters #48, and have started on #49, but then I realized that a scene was missing, so I'm adding it in. Which gives me a bit more time to figure what the sex scene in #49 ought to be, because I have no clue right now. On the flip side, I had a revelation about the last scene of #51 (and of Book IV). It had been staring me in the face, and I just saw it a few hours ago.
I got a request from a reader who's looking for a story, and I'm passing it along in case one of you can find it somewhere. (I couldn't, and it doesn't ring a bell either.)
The story's title is Model Mom, and the author one Joan Masgal. Here's the description that I was given:
If any of you know anything about this story, please leave a comment below, or contact me. Thanks!
In the meantime, here are some other stories with motherhood themes that I plucked from my list of stories that I've enjoyed at some time or another, not all of them incestual:
My Mother's a Porn Star! by Lovecraft68: “Bobby's obsession with porn leads to a startling discovery.”
Bad Teacher by Hetup: “Blackmailing my best friend's mother.”
She Is Mine And I Want Her Back by Caesar: “Realizing that his wife is cheating on him with her own son and that his son is using some kind of drug to turn his mother into his sex slave, he wants her back.”
Future Shock by TryAnything: “18-year-old boy seduces his mother with science.”

It is a story about a son who convinces his mother to model on his motorcycle for him, she ends up regularly fellating him, she later goes to drive him home from a party and ends up in the hot tub in a lesbian relationship with his girl friend.(The story at some point was found in Kelly85's stories on ASSTR but it's no longer there.)

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year, folks!
I'm on the road, on my way back home after the end of year celebrations. I'll post The Adjusters #47 when I get there, in a couple of days. (I can't post from my laptop for reasons that are way too boring and process-centric to go into.)
Fun stuff in perspective for 2014. More Adjusters, including Book V which I'm getting real excited about, and with some luck also some other stories. And also a revamped blog—white on red is getting painful for these old tired eyes.
The story of the day: in the last EMCSA update, I was pleasantly surprised to find a new story by Trent Wolf, an author I greatly like, Tales from the Club: Redefined Lines: “Two members of The Club, a private club of mind controllers, decides to teach a lesson to three University law students a lesson after their feminist parody video hits the web.” Dark and twisted, without a lot of surprises, but some very satisfying and demeaning sex scenes. A pleasant read if that's your cup o' joe.

Jake's Dream Comes True
Writing Journal: Just finished The Adjusters #45. It was weird. All about the secondary characters. Not entirely sure how I feel about it. But it moves the plot along. I'm having a love/hate relationship with Book IV. Hopefully working on #46 will help out—back to Jenn's perspective.
It's been a busy month of August, split between work and family. But I'm here, and I read all the emails, and I read all the comments, even if I'm slow on the response and even slower on the postings.
Fact is, that's pretty much my problem these days. Since life is so busy, a lot of stuff gets put on the shelf where it grows and grows, and when I get a bit of time to do something about it, I look at the overflowing shelf and don't quite know where to start attacking it. Not an original problem, I know. I just haven't found a satisfactory solution that works for me.
The story this week is a little saga that just finished posting on the EMCSA (although I think I read it over at Storiesonline), and which many of you have probably already seen, but if not, let me present Jake's Dream Comes True, by Billy_Ray77: “After being pummelled by a pair of bullies, Jake’s mental powers manifest themselves.”
Now, the description doesn't really do the story justice, as the author himself points out in a post over at MCForum. And I admit that the first time I tried reading the story, back when it was only two or three chapters long, it didn't grab me. But there's an actual story there, one that goes way beyond the somewhat succinct description above that misleadingly suggests a Guy Gets Powers And Fucks Everything That Moves story line, a story about how Jake deals with his powers, and how they affect the people that he loves. It's a nice and sweet story, with less pathos that I would have expected—sadly, in my hands, that story would have had a few of the nice girls in there somewhat used and abused and I can tell you exactly where that use and abuse would have occurred!—but still plenty of twists and turns. It reminds me a lot of a couple of classic mind-control stories of years past, one of which I can remember the details of but not the title. I'm going to have to find it and link to it one day.

Stories at the Opposite Ends
Writing Journal: Started out on The Adjusters #44, temporarily titled Awash. That one should be straightforward to write. Now, if I can get it and #45 done this month, then I'll be in a good spot for the rest of the summer. I also finally nailed a plot hole in Book IV this afternoon that had been bugging me for a while, so I'm happy. It looks like Book IV will take us to #50, if I can resist my urge to overcomplicate things.
Happy Independence Day if you're in the US. If not, well, happy fourth day of the month of July anyway, as arbitrary as that may sound.
Over at the EMCSA, Thrall has been posting a new story called Sleepwalkers: “The battle for an empire grows desperate after a leading Resistance figure is brainwashed.” A very interesting story. As I wrote elsewhere, this is a sci-fi story with erotic mind-control elements, as opposed to an erotic mind-control story with sci-fi elements. I'm really keen on seeing where this goes. It's induction heavy, and the sex is not quite the kind I usually go for (it's very subdued), but the mind-fucking is pretty hot. Read it if you're into dystopias. Also: Thrall has some posts about the background on her stories and behind-the-scenes discussions, the kind of stuff I love reading about.
At the complete opposite end of the spectrum, I ran across the stories of Mark Singer over at Literotica, which are fun light romps without a lot of drama to them, but that are basically sex, sex, sex—in some case, blow jobs, blow jobs, blow jobs. Case in point, Jennifer: “High school guy gets a shot at his dream girl.” That dream girl, Jennifer is young, beautiful, loves to tease, and has a pretty intense addiction to sucking cock. What's not to like?

Back with some Random Stories
Writing Journal: Comments have been trickling in for Charlie and the Convent of Oblivion, and the reception has been a bit tepid. I'm not complaining—not everything I try works, and I wouldn't expect it to. Plus some of it is definitely my fault. I should have made it clearer it's a sequel, for one. For another, upon re-rereading, part (1) does read rather rough. If I were to rewrite it now, I'd figure out a way to start with (2) directly. Ah well. As far as it connects to the Adjusters universe, though, it does seem to suggest that this may be the last Charlie adventure. (I had two other such tales sketched out.) It somehow doesn't fit as well as I hoped it would.
I've neglected this blog for the past few weeks. Life got crazy there with a big deadline last week, and I'm the sort of person that when a deadline approaches and the project is not in good shape, I stop being able to multitask and have to put all my attention on the project or I feel like everything will spin out of control and come crashing down in a fiery spectacular display. But things didn't spin out of control, and life is slowly getting back to normal.
A few stories did manage to catch my attention this week.
Tanked, by The Technician: “A professor finds a very interesting way to defend his research against defunding.” Found this on alt.sex.stories.moderated. (Yeah, I know. Yeah, it still exists. Yeah, once in a while, there's something good there.) Straight up MC story.
Side Bet Bluff, by Statsultan: “Will thought she was bluffing, and it led to a wild week.” Pretty well done, and I like the characters. Good domination/submission interaction, not overdone, but still hot.
Confessions of a Teen Slut, by Gloryholeprincess: “One night of lustful sex with my mom's ex boyfriend.” This one is overdone, but also hot. Not so deep at the character level, but hey, that's not why we read these sometimes.
Life Sentence, by MVPrimetime: “A girl rescued from slavery tells her tale.” That one hit my buttons, at least the day I came across it. It starts very rough, and goes in a weird direction, but it's a pretty good tale. I love the fact that it starts by forcing you to use your imagination, and then filling in the blanks.

(Belated) Weekend Random Links
Writing Journal: Midway through writing The Adjusters #42. And it's a weird experience. It really wants to be written first-person present-tense. So that's how I'm going with it. It'll need a lot of work on the backend, seeing as it's all over the place right now. One reason for that is that I'm still fleshing out the details of Book IV. I mean, I know where the story starts and where the story ends and where it fits in the larger context, but the details and especially the characters that appear in it remain to be figured out. I've got a large file into which I brainstorm about Book IV, and I think I'll take a snapshot of it so that when Book IV is all posted I can show you the file if you're curious and want to peruse it.
Some random links to keep you all distracted.
Sexy lingerie from the 80s from Silver Rose and from Victoria's Secret. I'm happy to report we survived the 80s.
Two scanlation fumetti from The Groovy Age of Horror: Storie Blu 117 - Violenze Mostruose (Monstrous Violence) and La Schiava 3 - L'Artiglio del Padrone (The Master's Claw)
Fascinating read if you're into porn and statistics: A study of 10,000 porn stars and their careers.
Whether you're into pony girls or not, have a look at this photo set. It's exceedingly pretty.
There is a story here. I just know there is. And we even have the title: Stuffed and Mounted.
A very sexy clip: Agent Provocateur Fall/Win 2012 with Mónica Cruz (Penelope Cruz's sister).
Less sexy (oddly enough) but funnier, we have some ads for a porn channel.
I'll leave you with a rather sweet mind-control story, Gifted Grifter, by DrSqueaky: “Origin of the man who seduces by reading minds.” A nice variation on the guy-gets-mind-control-powers trope, partly because he can only read minds, not affect them. The subplot with Julie is particularly nice, and hot to boot.
