Saturday Random Links

I am not a particularly avid fan of mainstream American XXX adult entertainment, but a friend of mine is a big fan of Kayden Kross, and I have to admit that the girl is easy on the eye. And she seems to play the naughty girlfriend/wife very well -- at least in Love and Marriage, which is the one movie I've seen of her.

So if not mainstream American XXX adult entertainment, what am I a big fan of? Glad you asked. I like Mario Salieri's work, although perhaps more in the 1990s than recently. Eros & Thanatos is one of my favorites. And it's easy to see why: blackmail, coercion, beautiful women...

I follow a bunch of blogs about writing. On the comic side, I'm partial to How To Write Badly Well, which focuses on what not to do. Some of them hit a little bit too close to home, such as Solve Mysteries by Introducing More Mysteries.

This is a clever advertisement gimmick...

I believe everyone should have a basic grasp of feminist theory, if only because it provides for a refreshing alternative to the standard (at least in the West) societal discourse. Here is a required primer on rape culture. You may agree, you may disagree, but at the very least you have to be aware of the discussion. Then you can take that discussion and apply it to standard media images, such as this advertising campaign, or even the one in the previous bullet point. Fascinating stuff. Of course, one may ask how I can reconcile my writing coercive smut and my appreciation of feminist theory. The answer is left as an exercise to the reader. (Hint: it has little to do with sex.)

On a much lighter note, the following review of the current Batman: Odyssey series by Neal Adams is hilarious, and also makes me want to actually read the series. It sounds demented.

Again, no point leaving you without smut to read. I reacquainted myself with an old favorite of mine this week, EngineX's mind-control story Kirsty and the Slob: "Kirsty takes an instinctive dislike to an unpleasant stranger on the train, but soon finds herself compelled to do exactly as he says. For his own part the stranger finds Kirsty a very attractive proposition and is soon planning for her long term future. The plans have little to do with the young woman's welfare and everything to do with his own satisfaction..." The stereotype of the disgusting controller, pushed to its limit.

"Take This Seat", and Dialogue-Based Stories

Well, at least I am par for the course with late postings this week. Not much to report on the writing front, as I'm recharging my batteries. Although I have been trying to put my notes for the latter half of The Adjusters Book II in some kind of order to see if they hold together and what needs tweaking.

There was a nice story posted at the EMCSA over the weekend that really got to me. Take This Seat, by Blue Kahuna: "A woman is very accommodating to the man with a remote control who sits next to her at the cafe." Actually, Part 2 was posted over the weekend -- part 1 back in December -- and I found Part 2 especially good in that it is essentially all dialogue. I like stories that revolve only around dialogue. I find it difficult to pull off well, but when it works, it really works. There's an element of indirectness there, where you do not get the events but rather the description of the events by someone else that gets to me. I suspect that's more or less why you have people in my stories often tell stories to other people, to compound this element.

It's impossible to talk about dialogue-based smut without mentioning the master in the genre, V. P. Viddler, who posted copiously more than a decade ago. All of his stories (I'll use 'he', but to be honest I have no clue) in his Fantasia series are long dialogues, and all revolve around bondage, torture, and humiliation. Here is a link to nearly a hundred of those. I always had a fondness, personally, for The Doorman, and Sid's Toy.

Supernatural Stories

Electricity went out yesterday, so I couldn't make my usual Saturday night post. On the plus side, a nice candlelight dinner with the significant other. That was pleasantly different.

But now we're back. Nothing much to report, so let me just jump straight to our smut of the week. One theme that comes up often in mind control stories is of course supernatural entities. Lots out there on that topic, much of it pretty forgettable. Here are some that stand out.

First off, a little ditty on Literotica that is perhaps not so much about mind control, but has some very interesting ideas thrown in about how getting it on with a succubus could affect your life. It's The Devil Buys My Soul, by JoeDreamer (who has a couple other interesting stories, so check him out): "Sandy, the Deal and the Succubus." I just love, right at the beginning, when the devil offers to our poor jilted hero a succubus that looks just like his ex-wife. And later, when the succubus takes on the form of different women from our hero's life. Some very cool ideas in there.

Moving up the heat curve, we have Debbie, Dan, and the Demon, by an anonymous author: "The little ankle bracelet that Debbie buys from a Paris shop comes with a hidden extra." It's an oldish story (from early 2000s), but there are some amazing scenes in there.

Finally, what I consider the classic in the genre, an old story by Traffic Man called Demon Deals: "Jonathan meets a mysterious woman with very slutty tendencies. He learns that she acts the way she does because she was cursed by a demon. He concocts a plan to strike a bargain with the demon in order to get some of the demon's powers. But is it really an iron-clad contract?" Again, some amazing scenes in there, and Diane is a lovely character to have around. The story is also pretty tight, and is a good read even if you abstract away from the sex (which you shouldn't!)

What's your favorite supernatural smut story? Feel free to share in the comments.

A Couple of Dark Submission Stories, and a New One by Pamela

Finished a draft of The Adjusters #20, which ended up being a big sex scene. And I'll need to let it rest for a bit because it's still very rough. Which is good, because I need a break. Aside from finishing to type up #15 and revising it for posting, no sex writing for the rest of the month.

I was reminded late last week of a story that I first read a couple of years ago that I always found deliciously perverse. Again, a fairly clichéd setup: the girl with the submissive streak that is not aware of it, at least at first. What's cool with this story is the way in which the girl discovers that she has that submissive streak: by noticing that some guys are trying to slip her roofies, but playing along nonetheless. There's pretty twisted stuff in there. It's by Danielle, on BDSM Library, a story called Roffeless: "A smart girl thinks she has outwitted a couple of sleazballs, but the game she plays leads her down into depravity and ruin." And upon rereading that story, I discovered there was a sequel, just as nasty as the original! Barb's Fall From Grace: "Barb, our heroine, rebels against her submissive nature... Will she succeed in recovering her self-respect and self-worth?"

The writing is a little bit rough around the edges, but makes up for it in filthiness. If you're still on board after those two stories, try another of Danielle's pieces, Lynsey's Game: "Lynsey is a sweet girl who has always had things her own way. So the thought of a little danger excites her. On the internet, she begins to play an exciting little game, thinking that she's safe. But she's not..." That one is a couple of notches higher on the darkness scale, playing somewhat fast and lose with the notion of consent. But pretty hot, in a mind-fucking sort of way.

Last but not least, I was delighted to see a new story by Pamela tonight! It's Discipline Maintained: "'Would you like to watch me chastise her, John?' said the English ambassador...speaking of his wife." A different voice for this one, and if you're up on your classics, you'll recognize both the voice and the title too. (And if not, there's a not-so-subtle hint in the story itself.)

A Story by TQM

First off, I have to extend my sympathies and my thoughts to the people of Japan, and everyone else affected by the tsunami. But I have to say, A+ for earthquake-proof construction.

In chipper news, it looks like episode #19 of The Adjusters, which had already split off from #18, will split off into two episodes itself, given that it has already reached 14K words, and I'm not quite done with it yet. I'm going to need a bit of break after that one, let me tell you. That's one advantage of writing a bit ahead of the posting deadline, I can pause and rest without antagonizing folks. On the plus side, I've just spent 7K+ words inside Jenn's head, and it reminded me exactly why I love that character.

I ran, completely by accident, into a wonderful little story in six chapters over at Literotica. It's by TQM (aka The Quiet Man), who writes mostly about infidelity. Jennifer's Longing: "Sexy young wife submits to a stud." What's interesting about this story is that it is at heart a cheating wife story but written essentially from the point of view of the bull. Now, the narrator is the young heroine, Jennifer, but the perspective is that of the bull, intent on ruining a marriage. (Well, that, and getting his rocks off.)

It starts getting twisted in Chapter 5, where the bull convinces Jennifer to seduce the husband into asking for his own demise. I love that bit. Twisting perversions and warping people's mind without their knowledge, for nefarious purposes, that always sends my kinky aflutter. I won't spoil it for you. Read it.

In fact, I'm probably going to "borrow" that idea in the future, put my own spin on it. I just need to wait for the right characters to show up and raise their hand and say "me, me, me."

The Adjusters Speculation Thread

I was asked end of last week if it was possible for me to set up some kind of forum so that readers could speculate on my serial, The Adjusters. Funny idea, but hey, why not? Turns out that Blogger does not have a built-in forum, and freely available ones that you can embed in blogs are a bit of a pain to manage, or so I read.

What I will do, then, is simply to dedicate this post and its associated comment thread as a place where you folks can feel free to speculate on what the heck you think is going on with the story. Or, for that matter, speculate on anything you want. It's your comment thread, do what you want with it.

As far as I am concerned, I will not reply to anything posted in the comments here. That'll avoid the possibility of spoilerage, or me influencing the discussion by being purposely obscure and obfuscating, as I'm wont to do. I will probably read the comments, though, since they'll show up indiscriminatingly in my RSS reader. And that will let me keep an eye on things so that I can step in if the discussion somehow degenerates into a schoolyard brawl. (Not that I expect that to happen, since we're all nice folks here -- well, aside from enjoying reading about twisted perverted people doing nasty things to each others.)

Now back to our scheduled programming. If you need your weekly smut, here's a great way to while away the time at the theater when the movie's a yawner:

A Story by Bluefox07

RL has kept me busy these last few days, and between that and the mad rush to finish the edits on the last episode of The Adjusters from Wednesday, I haven't had much time to think about a post for tonight.

So instead of coming up with something half-assed (as opposed to the thoughtful and carefully crafted posts that make up my usual output -- Ah, thanks for noticing!), let me just point you to a story that I ran into a couple of weeks back, and hits on some interesting points in an interesting way.

The story is The Gift, by Bluefox07: "Two guys foolishly abuse a mysterious power."

It's an old idea, really: pick two guys, give them this incredible power for seven days, and see what happens, who does what with what they have been given. It's actually fairly well done, for such a clichéd premise. And it's a strange thing too: there's a lot of sex, there's also a lot of plot, and after a while, you kind of end up reading it for the plot and to see what happens, as opposed to the sex. At least, that's what it did for me. (Funny, that reminds me of some of the best work by Al Steiner, which has that effect on me as well. I should write a post about his work soon.) But then again, some of the sex scenes are delightfully perverse. The stuff with Jesse's mother, there at the end, man -- twisted.

Anyways, have a read, and with some luck, you'll enjoy it. Meanwhile, I'll go nap a bit.

New Story: The Adjusters #14

Here is March's episode of The Adjusters, "The Nickel and Dime", wherein Jenn is found, after much effort.

As usual, comments welcome.

14 - The Nickel and Dime

"Explain to me again why I cannot partake in this beholding of the
DVD?"

Daniel looked at Radhu like he had sprouted a third arm. "Are you
seriously asking me why I'm not letting you see a DVD of my fiancee
screwing around on me? Seriously?"

"You just said you showed it to Serena..."

"She's a girl!"

"And that affects matters how exactly? She is practically bisexual."

"It's... it's... dammit, it's just not the same, okay? Now can we just
go back to figuring out what the hell I should do now?"

"What was Serena's analysis of the situation?"

Good question, thought Daniel. Earlier today, after watching the DVD
that had been left attached to his front door, he had gone through
another round of calls to everyone he knew looking for Jenn, without
success. He had then called Serena and had been surprised to find her
-- she had been getting a lot more difficult to get a hold of
lately. He had asked her to come over, and she had agreed, without
asking questions. She had shown up forty-five minutes later, finding
him in a sorry state alternating between anger and despair. Her hug
had been welcome and reassuring. While he told her the events of the
previous day, from the time when he had left her after lunch to go
find Jenn up until the discovery of the DVD a few hours earlier,
Serena had listened intently like the reporter she was. She had been
curious about the DVD, and despite feeling funny about it, he had
loaded the player again and fired up the video. He had steeped out of
the room while she watched, having had no desire to see any of it
again.
