Writing Journal: Writing and editing away. The Adjusters #64 is coming along, but slowly. Beats me why. I'm also trying to clean up my notes for the second half of the overall story line. Time to bring everything together.
There was a story posted to Literotica maybe a week ago, A Teacher Blackmailed, by Mickyg85: “Beautiful teacher gets blackmailed by geeky student.” The story goes through the usual beats for this kind of tale, but it's competently done, and pretty hot. I'm hoping it continues.
But the story mainly brought to mind the classics in that sphere, that of beautiful and sexy teachers shamelessly taken advantage of.
One of my favorite is The Last Class, by Pamela, because I love anything Pamela writes.
Vulgus is Vulgus with the story The Teacher's a Pet.
Victoria's Blackmail by Ug is also good, and was recently concluded.
Summer's Blackmail by Wilcox010 is a long meandering tale that has some beautiful hot scenes.
Joan's Year of Changes by Engywwok is deliciously twisted.
Let's end with a classic. Owned Teacher by Thumb was one of the earliest long dark teacher blackmail tale I remember reading.

Two Stories at Both Ends of a Spectrum
Writing Journal: Hacking away at The Adjusters #32. I've just finished writing the second of three scenes, and I don't particularly like it. It's slow, expository, and does less than I'd like it to do. I'll write the third scene, then come back to it. Maybe the second and third scenes can be merged... This might be my first hint that I need to plot Book III a bit more carefully. I have it all in my head, and it's much less involved than Book II—I predict six installments—but perhaps I should diagram it or something, to make sure it actually makes sense installments-wise.
There's a new story on Vulgus's page at Storiesonline, My Stepson the Psychopath: “ A young single mother of a thirteen year old girl finally meets the man of her dreams. But her dream is turned into a nightmare when she falls prey to her fifteen year old stepson.” A twisted tale, even darker than what's usual from Vulgus. I liked the beginning more than the balance of the story, although I admit to really liking the manacle tattoo in Chapter 11. Some underage stuff in there—although not particularly emphasized, as in, the character could be eighteen and it wouldn't change much to the story—as well as bestiality.
If you want to cleanse your palate after that one, check out the somewhat sweeter story by Grant McCloud, How my neighbor turned me into a pimp. No description, but the title plays that role nicely. The story's in the alt.sex.stories.moderated usenet group via Google Groups, which has some interesting stuff in it still.

Some Recently Posted Stories
Writing Journal: I find myself writing an appendix to Book II of The Adjusters, which I guess will come out as #31. I know, right, an appendix? What the hell? You'll see. I just hope I can pull off what I have in mind...
Not much to report this week. A few interesting recent stories came across my screen, which I'm happy to share with you.
Special Programmer posted the final chapter of a 2009 mind-control story, The Petition: “Barbara Jones signs a petition to help save the planet, but instead it changes her life drastically.” I love the slow change of the main character, and there are some delightful scenes in there. I generally enjoy the tales Special Programmer spins—his stories are very much straight and to the point, which sometimes is exactly what one is in need of.
New Name Dan posted a nice little ditty as well, another mind-control story, The Accident: “A man gets into a fender bender and winds up with more than he bargained for.” That one is almost played for laughs, but packs an interesting punch for a 3000-words tale. Also straight and to the point.
Finally, Vulgus posted a new long tale on Storiesonline, Green Clouds: “A young woman is coerced into a sexual relationship with her husband's dominant supervisor. It turns out to be...well, maybe you should read it and find out.” A typical Vulgus story line and development, so if you've enjoyed previous Vulgus offerings you know what you're in for. One thing that particularly tickled me about this story is the setup, in which a post-hypnosis trigger—albeit not a real one—plays an important role. I may borrow the idea at some point, as I think it has nice dramatic potential—not to mention it's hot!

A Few Mind-Control Stories
Writing Journal: I've been spending the last few days in the mind of someone really disturbed for The Adjusters #28, but I think I know what makes that character tick now. (Not sure what that says about my own mental sanity though...) Looking forward to see what you all think when it comes out. And that character solves a problem I had later in the story, where I needed something done that no character wanted to do. But he finally raised his hand and volunteered. I love when that happens.
First off, a time-sensitive announcement. Artie has announced that he will be shutting down his website on ASSTR by the end of December. His mind-control stories are archived at the EMCSA, but many of his stories are not about mind control, and they will disappear. So if you're interested, you may want to grab those that tickle your fancy. I read a couple of his stories a long time ago, and I like his style, but he tends to write female-dominant MC, and that's less my cup of tea. Still, he has a lot of fans, so have a look and enjoy. Best of luck, Artie, and thanks for the stories.
While researching Artie's site, I was reminded of an old story by RC from 2000 (in collaboration with LookDeeply, it seems), called Business Trip: “A project manager finds a new way to manage his co-workers.” A nice little story about what happens when you take advantage of someone and it comes back to bite you. Sort of. It's actually a pretty sweet story. And I love the slow progression. Now, one problem is that RC's web site is a huge pain in the ass—there's a bunch of crappy JavaScript that prevents linking to the story directly, meaning that if you do want to read this story, then you have to click RC Stories in the left column—don't be distracted by the shiny late-90s effects—and then scroll down to Business Trip. (Insert grumpiness here. I know why preventing linking directly into your website can be useful, as you are not responsible for breaking links when you decide to move your stuff around, but it's still annoying as all hell.)
I'll leave you with a Vulgus story I had not read before, this one with mind-control elements. It's Caribbean Cure: “While on a Caribbean Cruise with their parents, a boy accompanies his bitchy sister on a shopping trip into port. She raises the ire of a shopkeeper who has access to some mind altering drugs which he offers to use to enslave the girl.” (Here's a version not on StoriesOnline.) Nice and dark as you would expect, and then it takes a real dark turn before finishing off in somewhat standard Vulgus fashion with everyone happy. Well, you know what I mean. Or not. Either way, good story, with good scenes.

Story Idea in the Back of my Head
Writer's journal: The end of the month is coming up fast. I'm editing The Adjusters #20, which I know many of you have been waiting for patiently. Which means that my back's to the wall and I have to decide on something I've been going back and forth over for the past month. Thankfully, it's not a large plot point. Meanwhile, I'm hacking away on #23, which is looking like another 10K+ words monstrosity. But I keep stealing time away from it to hack away on a later episode (a much later episode) that has caught my imaginative fancy and that I had to write parts of lest it disappears back into the fine mist where ideas live.
There's been a story in the back of my head that has been knocking over and over at the door of the conscious writing part of my brain, begging for attention. And unfortunately, I can't find a way to fit it in the Adjusters universe. Which usually means that if I cannot find a way to fit it in and I cannot get rid of it eventually, I will have to write it.
The idea is simple. In fact, it's not even a full-fledged idea. It's really just a bunch of characters. And it's the oldest story in the book: a high-school boy befriends the friendly and sexy single neighbor, who teaches him the ways of love. Need I say that the neighbor in question is a retired porn star? And that she turns him into an irresistible babe magnet? And that the mob comes knocking because of an old story between the neighbor and an infatuated boss that went wrong? I'm seeing Kayden Kross in the title role—my current porn crush. (I'm allowed to have porn crushes, right? That's not too weird?)
It doesn't take a psychologist to figure out where this is coming from. As I said in my last post, I've been re-reading a bunch of Vulgus stories, and one of them is 400mm of Mrs. Hanson, an ultimately rather disappointing story except for a couple of hot scenes, I'm sorry to say, but with a great character, the—wait for it!—sexy older neighbor who teaches the protagonist the ways of love, one lovely (and delightfully perverted) Cassidy Hanson.
And one of my favorite stories ever, as the lot of you well know, Bluedragon's An Ordinary Teenage Sex Life, starts out with the protagonist meeting up with his—yup—sexy older neighbor who teaches him the ways of love, the lovely and sexually enthusiastic Keira McNeil.
You know, now that I think of it, I suspect there's an old leftover fantasy from my teenage years lurking, here...
Oh, before I leave, I should point out that I'm back on Twitter. After a long silence. Still not sure what I'm doing there, but from what I gather from the people I follow, neither do they, so I'm in good company. If you're in the neighborhood, feel free to drop by and say hi.

A New Chapter of Callie's Downfall
I've seen a slight spike in the numbers of people coming to visit this blog, and we've had quite interesting comments in the Speculation Thread, so let me welcome our new readers to this little corner of the porny world. Remember that I purposely do not interact in the Speculation Thread (except possibly to remove abusive comments, which thankfully has not happened yet because you have all been a wonderful bunch of upstanding folks), so if you have a question that you'd like an answer to, or just want to say hi, feel free to drop a comment on any other thread.
Two questions about The Adjusters that came up in the last few weeks I'd like to answer though. Just to make sure we're all on the same page. First, people seem to have the feeling that the story will end soonish. Do not fear. This tale is for the long run. In my head, it's less a single story, and more like a classic serial. Think your favorite monthly comic book. Except without pictures. That's one of the reasons why I'm posting once a month, as opposed to racing to the finish line. It's not going to be in sight for a long while.
(Related: I'm plowing through the trade paperbacks of Fables right now, by Bill Willingham—that's one kick-ass series. I highly recommend it. Almost as good as Neil Gaiman's Sandman.)
Second thing: the ending. Between the people that want the happy ending, and people that do not want the happy ending, there seems to be an irreconcilable clash. Which is very interesting to me. I make no secret that the story has a happy ending, although happiness is always in the eye of the beholder. But before getting there, there will be trials, there will be tribulations, there will be adventures. Yet I think that even those that do not want a happy ending will be satisfied. Because I'm aiming for a satisfying ending, and perhaps more importantly, one that makes sense given where the story is going.
(Related: I've run across the following interesting post by A. C. Crispin on How to Satisfy Your Reader without Being Predictable that is likely relevant to exactly this topic.)
Smut-wise, not much to report.
There's a new chapter for Minty's Callie's Downfall over at Storiesonline. Updates are sadly very infrequent, but the story is still good. I've talked about this story here.
Aside from that, I've mostly be re-reading a couple of stories by Vulgus, especially Brooke Can't Drink. I've talked about that story here (but I'm providing the Storiesonline link here, which holds the whole story, as opposed to the link I gave earlier.) And I'm starting to understand better the rumors that maybe Vulgus is not the bona fide author of those stories. His stories are written in sometimes very distinct styles. Something to investigate there. Maybe he's like TheEditor, that fixture on alt.sex.stories back in the days, who would republish old classics.

Author Spotlight: Vulgus
A quick update first. I did finish the first draft of The Adjusters #13 yesterday. It's clocking at upwards of 8000 words, 1500 of which were taken from my original version of that episode from two years ago, the rest new. No wonder it took a while, for an episode that was supposed to already be written. But at least I'm happy with it now. Next, a couple of editing passes.
Meanwhile, I'm almost done with #17. My aim has always been to have at least one sex scene in every episode, but for that one, I found it difficult to work one in. Part of the problem is that the episode is a transitional one (it's tentatively called "Intermissions"). But I think I figured a way out of that hole. We'll see how it's received.
I'm about to start on #18, which hadn't existed in my head until earlier this week. I want to use it to illustrate the life of the dick girls, and give some cheap thrills in the process. My working title is "A Day in the Life". Should be fun to write, and it will segue into the seven episodes making up the back end of Book II. But first, I need your help.
Informal Poll: In #18 I'd like, among other things, to give a couple of scenes of Serena and Kyra being used by the Delta Iota Kappa brothers as they go about their business. My question to you: is there anything you'd like to see? I have some ideas, but I'm happy to consider opinions from the gallery. As usual, no promises, but if something catches my fancy I'll happily work it in.
In my last post I talked about blackmail stories. Here, I'd like to focus on an author that has made blackmail stories his speciality. (I'm assuming male here, but I admit to having absolutely nothing on which to base this assumption. I'm happy to be corrected.)
I discovered Vulgus maybe two years ago, completely by accident, on some random site that does not exist any longer, and rediscovered him through the Dijan Understories archive, where many of his stories are archived. More of his stories are available through Storiesonline.
Vulgus is quite prolific, and his tales tend to run long, which is something I love. I believe that really hot stories derive from getting to know the characters and care for them, which requires some room. That's not to say that short stories cannot be hot, of course, just that the mechanisms involved there are more subtle, and probably rely much more on the author connecting with something that's already there within the reader. But I digress.
I think of Vulgus a little bit like I do of Stephen King -- he has a few basic storylines he really likes, and he recrafts them into endless variations that maintain their own individuality. But you get the feeling that it's that way because that's the stories he enjoys telling, and he could write something else if he wanted to, and it'd be just as great -- he just chooses not to.
And that's fine with me. There are some real gems in his collection. Not all his stories are about blackmail, but many are. And they are rather rough; nonconsensual sex does occur with nontrivial frequency, so be warned. Here are some favorites of mine, in no particular order:
I Belong to Snake Now: A naive young wife who spends too much time home alone begins to explore the internet for the first time. After a few relatively harmless chats she finds herself being blackmailed into becoming a sex slave to a big bad biker.
My Rival Wins; My Wife and I Lose: A not so friendly childhood rival becomes the employer of a young couple and fakes some documents and photos to blackmail them with. He abuses the young wife in order to torment the husband, his lifelong rival.
A Bad Reaction: A young mother is falsely accused of a crime and convicted. She becomes a pawn and a sexual toy to an unscrupulous Parole Officer, she and her daughter both. EDIT: Someone reminded me that this story contains an underage character. To be honest, I tend to ignore that part and focus on what happens to the mother, but you may want to skip this story if that sort of thing squicks you.
A Lesson in Social Justice: A young couple are taught a lesson in race relations when a black man moves in next door.
Amanda's Continuing Education: A young female high school counselor is seduced by one of the young students she is mentoring. His accomplice records the affair with a video camera and the young woman is forced into sexual servitude.
Brian is Gone: Kim's husband is stationed in Iraq. She is drugged while attending a friend's birthday party. She is raped and filmed in compromising positions and blackmailed.
Brooke Can't Drink: An awful lot of bad things happen to a young wife as a result of a little problem she has when she drinks.
The next story is not strictly a blackmail story, but it hits so many of my buttons that I have to include it here.
A Wife with no Options: Ken decides to leave his wife of three years for a long list of very good reasons. In desperation she agrees to do anything and everything he asks of her if he will just stay with her. He puts her to the test, with the idea of getting some revenge. Maybe he should have done that three years ago!
How about you? Which is your favorite Vulgus story?

I Belong to Snake Now: A naive young wife who spends too much time home alone begins to explore the internet for the first time. After a few relatively harmless chats she finds herself being blackmailed into becoming a sex slave to a big bad biker.
I have just learned a valuable lesson. It has been, and continues
to be, a very costly lesson. Let me tell you about it.
My name is Ashley. I am 22, 5'6", 115, bright red hair, and as of
just over a year ago, very married. I met my husband in college
and we married as soon as I graduated last year. He graduated a
year ahead of me and is already well on his way to being the next
Donald Trump. Except for the hair of course. [...]
My Rival Wins; My Wife and I Lose: A not so friendly childhood rival becomes the employer of a young couple and fakes some documents and photos to blackmail them with. He abuses the young wife in order to torment the husband, his lifelong rival.
Ray and I had known each other all of our lives. Our parents were
best friends and next door neighbors so we didn't have any choice
but to try and get along. But for some reason, and I don't know
if either one of us could say what it was, we never liked each
other. We had maintained an uneasy truce and a less than friendly
rivalry since we started playing together at our parent's
insistence. Even back then though, even at the ages of three or
four we didn't like each other. [...]
I'm not even sure exactly what happened that evening, the evening that it all started. I was on my way up the stairs to my second floor apartment after a long, hard day at work. The elevator was out of service again. It was out more than it worked, so I wasn't surprised. I felt something on my butt and I didn't even think about it, I just reacted instinctively. I turned around and, seeing one of my neighbors behind me I did something that I had never done in my life. I drew back and slapped his face as hard as I could.
I saw the look of surprise on his face as he fell over backwards and rolled down the stairs to fall at the feet of his wife, who had stopped to check the mail. She screamed and that is the last thing that happened that evening that wasn't a part of the big haze. [...]
A Lesson in Social Justice: A young couple are taught a lesson in race relations when a black man moves in next door.
There are people who will not like some of the things that I
write in this story. If you are of the opinion that the south
will rise again (or that it should), if you are convinced that
the American Civil War was fought for financial reasons or to
secure state's rights then I highly recommend that you skip this
story. Some of the things I write here will offend your
sensibilities.
I will admit that a lot of what happened to me is a result of my
racist upbringing. If I had not been raised in a small southern
town by racist parents and if all of my friends had not been
racist I might not have done the things that I did. For it was my
misguided actions that triggered the events that I'm writing
about, events that changed the lives of both me and my husband.
I'm not saying that I deserved what happened to me, or what is
still happening to me. But I can't deny that I brought it on
myself. [...]
Amanda's Continuing Education: A young female high school counselor is seduced by one of the young students she is mentoring. His accomplice records the affair with a video camera and the young woman is forced into sexual servitude.
I am in more trouble than I ever imagined possible. I have always
been very goal oriented and very much in charge of my life. Or at
least I thought I was. I knew from an early age that I wanted to
work with troubled kids in some capacity. I excelled in school
and I was on the honor roll from the first grade until I
graduated from school. I always took the tough subjects and my
grades were perfect so I had no problem getting into the
university that I had my heart set on attending. Even if my
father had not graduated from there I would have had no problems
getting in.
I carried a 4.0 grade average throughout my undergraduate studies
and it seemed like I breezed through my post graduate work in my
chosen field. It was so easy it scared me. Really! When it was
all over and I had my Doctorate I kept thinking, "Is that all
there is?" I had a nagging fear for a while that they were going
to send me a letter some day and tell me that I forgot to do
something to meet some requirement and they had just discovered
it. [...]
Brian is Gone: Kim's husband is stationed in Iraq. She is drugged while attending a friend's birthday party. She is raped and filmed in compromising positions and blackmailed.
It was the first time I had gone out to have a little fun since
my husband had left for Iraq. His National Guard unit had been
called to active duty and before we had time to take a deep
breath he had been gone. He had been gone almost three months and
I was bored to death. All I ever did now was go to work and go
home and watch TV and write letters to my husband. I was a little
upset that I wrote to him every night and I got a letter from him
only once a week, if that.
I knew that conditions were rough over there and that he was
having a hard time of it. But just a note to say that he was okay
and still loved me would have been nice. We had only been married
for a little over a year and I knew he loved me, but I really
worried about him and I wanted a little reassurance. No, I wanted
a lot of reassurance, not so much that he still loved me, I knew
that he did. Rather that he was still alive and uninjured and
holding up alright. [...]
Brooke Can't Drink: An awful lot of bad things happen to a young wife as a result of a little problem she has when she drinks.
Everything seemed to come together at the same time in a terrible confluence of events that seemed destined to destroy me and my marriage. It all stemmed from a series of errors in judgment and very bad choices that quickly added up to a nightmare come true.
The first bad choice was made almost six months earlier. Taken by itself it would have been insignificant. It would have had no effect on my life at all. The small furniture manufacturing business that my husband and I started and have been running fairly successfully almost since we married eight years ago developed a small liquidity problem. It should have been no big deal. It happens to small businesses all the time. [...]
I was furious when I left work. I don't think I had ever been so mad in my life. I had a chance to cool down a little as I dealt with the rush hour traffic. That was not my normal reaction to all of the idiots on the road. By the end of my normal commute I usually wished that I had a pair of fifty caliber machine guns mounted on the front and rear of my car so that I could shoot the idiots around me.
But this evening the crawling traffic had given me time to think and I no longer intended to storm into the house as soon as I got home and start screaming at my wife. [...]
How about you? Which is your favorite Vulgus story?
