Writing Journal: Whoopee doo! Finished the first draft of The Adjusters #29 this week, at about 15000 words. It's rough and will need much work, particularly with pacing, but it more or less captures what was in my head, which makes me glad. Now onto #30, the epilogue of Book II, and in particular a scene I've been looking forward to writing for several months now.
A few weeks late, but take a look at IO9's look back at the year 2011 in NSFW.
I'd have loved to be a fly during the meeting of the ad execs that thought up this breast cancer prevention campaign. (Via Violet Blue.)
Talking about comics, you may want to check out Prime Mover's illustrated stories with strong mind-control themes.
And while we're talking free erotic 3D comics, check out RKShooter's Milly series, which is not about mind control, but partly about submission, and partly about just plain old kinky sex.
I've talked about Undum before, a Javascript-based system for writing hypertext fiction. Here's Hypedyn, a Java-based system for doing something similar. I still prefer the look of Undum, though.
I'm too young to remember vintage men's mags, but I have to admit that these pages are simply outstanding—and you gotta love the loglines!
Maria Ozawa in a Japanese remake of Species? You better believe it. Looks bad enough to be good.
The best lingerie ad in the world?
The real reason for the Fall of the Roman Empire, according to Oglaf.
Closing with the story of the week, a nicely written dark tale of abduction and mind control by VoiceOfUnreason called Becoming Marie: “Kidnapped, and... changed.” How's that for a short and sweet description? Looking forward to many more chapters. (Via JN on MCForum.)
Seems like Blogger has gone and messed up the font in comments, with their introduction of the new "threaded" commenting system. Sigh. There seems to be a fix, but I won't be able to play around with it for a few days. Thanks for your patience...

ReplyDeleteSweet! Thanks—I'll check it out.
DeleteHad a look (actually, at a non-serbian version of the movie), and it took a while for me to realize that it's a movie version of Milo Manara's "Click" graphic novel! If you can find it somewhere, check it out, as well as its three sequels: "Click 2", "Click 3", and "Click 4". They're fantastic, and Manara's a consumate artist.
