A Long Harem Mind-Control Story

Writing Journal: Forging ahead. Nothing particularly interesting to report. I know exactly what I need to be writing for the next week—it's just a matter of putting words to the images in my head. Nothing particularly sexy about it.

I finished watching season 2 of Nikita this weekend [1], the last six episodes in a couple of marathon session. Damn, that was intense. And just in time, too, because season 3 is just starting.

Our story for this weekend—a long mind-control story, by LustInTranslation, Telepath King: “Tom becomes a Telepath and realizes his potential.” Where realizing his potential really means build a harem and take over the world. Well, not really, but yes. It's an interesting story if you like the genre, hits many of the usual tropes while still being fresh, and manages to keep the sex hot. There are a lot of characters, which is always a problem with harem-style stories, but the author manages them well, and there are a few shifts of scenery that introduce us to new characters in a more isolated context, which helps a lot.

This problem with having a slew of characters is one reason that I haven't written this dark story that's been playing in the back of my head [2] about a powerful mind controller that is a little bit warped—I haven't figured out a nice way to avoid having the story converge into a "powerful mind controller builds large harem and gets it on with everyone over and over again.”

[1] It's one of my more guilty pleasures.
[2] I've got a lot of stories in the back of my head. Most of them are complete crap. Those that survive the long filtering process either end up merged into The Adjusters—down the line—or more rarely become other stories.

A SciFi-ish Mind-Control Story

Writing Journal: I've finished revising the Elizabeth Bowden scene in The Adjusters #34, and damn if I'm not finding myself itching to tell a lot more of her backstory. It won't fit in the story line, but maybe I can write a one-shot at some point about it. You know, just to fill in some of the blanks...

Sorry for the silence, folks. Impromptu trip last week that kept me away from the keyboard.

By way of forgiveness, here's a pretty good mind-control story that I ran across while meandering the web a few weeks ago. It's Bait and Switch, by Dark_Brother: “A college student gets new abilities.” A mundane description, as usual for Literotica, but it sets the stage. Our hero wakes up with the ability to control people, and sets about to use it, like we expect he does. But then the plot (because there is a plot) kicks in, and the explanation for the ability arrives, and our hero gets involved in a sci-fi scenario that is both interesting and actually pretty gripping in places. There's a bit of incest thrown in there because, hey, why not, but it doesn't particularly detract or attract—they might as well be step-folks. Oh, and it's complete, which is always a happy thing.

Another (Sort of) Mind-Control Story

Writing Journal: Between spending my writing time between plowing on with The Adjusters #35 and revisiting the Elizabeth Bowden scene in #34. I think I've figured out why I'm having trouble writing this Book—I've been having a weird last few months emotionally, and judging on the stories that are catching my eye, what turns me on right now is a bit orthogonal to the current The Adjusters storyline. And I guess in the future I can talk a bit about writing and arousal and their relationship. (It's not obvious.)

Another longish somewhat mind-control story for you, this time on Storiesonline.

It's by ElSol, who has a lot of interesting mind-control stories going. The new one is The Power: “Sometimes, a person finds a key to Magic. Very rarely, someone is the key to Magic. Five high school girls discover a secret about Michael. Nothing will ever be the same!” A Bit difficult to summarize, but basically it's about witches who make a deal with our Michael: power in exchange for sex—well, sort of. Better in fact. Read and see. Don't worry if it doesn't seem to make sense at first. It's an in media res story, and everything of relevance gets explained within the first two chapters. A nice story. And the sex is pretty good, too.

(If you like the story, you may want to check out ElSol's The Six Pills of Domination: “A failed high school experiment gives a sixteen year old boy seven keys to the women around him.”)

A Long Mind-Control Story

Writing Journal: Recovering from the mad dash editing and rewriting The Adjusters #33. If you're curious, the scene I had to rewrite was the scene with Elizabeth Bowden, which needed work after I revised some stuff that happens later on in #35/36. Now that #33 is out, I can now go back to #35 (do I really only have two installments in the buffer—crap!) and start writing about Daniel and Shawbank's meeting with their suspect.

I ran across a long mind-control story I was utterly unaware of over the weekend, and I started reading it, but I'm maybe just a third into it. But it's been good until now, which gives me good hope that it will remain good for a while longer.

It's My Only Talent, by Conanthe: “Listening for the Suzie Signal.” Good ol' Literotica and it's somewhat unhelpful summaries. Basically, it's the story of a guy with an interesting skill, namely that he can get signals from girls that are interested in him, which essentially guarantees him a good time. (The first girl he experiences this with was called Suzie, thus his name for the signals: Suzy Signals. As I said, somewhat unhelpful summaries...) The girls are pretty, the sex is hot, and the main character is actually quite likable. Most importantly, it's all fun, at least for the bits that I've read. I so wish I could write fun light-hearted stuff. But no, when I grab a keyboard, what comes out, no matter how light it starts, soon turns dark and twisted. My burden...

New Story: The Adjusters #33

Here is October's installment of The Adjusters, “A Wedding and an Assignment”, wherein our odd character continues spreading his Ministry, and Daniel Malcolm gets an assignment.

As usual, comments welcome.

I'll also remind you that we have a Speculation Thread available for general discussion. (A thread which I read but do not comment on.)

The Adjusters #33 - A Wedding and an Assignment

(Huntington, West Virginia. Ten months ago.)

He follows the girl through the hallways of City Hall, trying hard to
make it seem like he is not following her. Thankfully, there are
enough people mulling about, looking busy, worried, overwhelmed, that
it is as easily done as said.

He is curious where she is going. Her marriage ceremony--a civil
wedding City Hall, not uncommon, but decidedly not the norm in the
area--is set to start in less than a half hour. A small wedding, by
the way those things are measured, but the reception to follow would
be larger, with a luxurious reception hall reserved at a hotel down
the street. A good hundred guests expected, most of them
young--friends of the couple.

The girl turns a corner in the hallway after a quick look around, and
he tries to camouflage himself among the people milling about. He is
dressed in his dark suit, and he can pass off as a civil servant
fairly easily, at least if he hides his face a little bit.

He approaches the corner, and risks a look. The hallway beyond is
empty. He can hear the sound of her high heels on the floor further
down, past another corner. He hurries as silently as possible to that
corner, and peeks around.
