Here is January's installment of The Adjusters, “Jennifer's Plan”, wherein Jenn and Sanderson figure out an escape plan, and Beatrice cashes in on her owed favor.
As usual, comments welcome.
I'll also remind you that we have a Speculation Thread available for general discussion. (A thread which I read but do not comment on.)
The Adjusters #47 - Jennifer's Plan
Richard Sanderson could not sleep. He tossed and turned in bed, trying to find a comfortable position and failing miserably. His bedside clock shone a bright green 3:10, the glow almost mocking him with its fluorescence.
Sanderson sighed, flipped onto his back, and stared at the ceiling of his room, arms behind his head.
In the darkness, he could pick up the sounds he had grown used to hearing for the past weeks coming from the other end of the apartment: his roommate Erik and his new girlfriend were going at it. It was an almost nightly event, one that lasted for several hours, and that made Sanderson wonder exactly how much sleep those two were getting, and how they managed to be coherent at work.
Granted, Erik worked part-time and usually had his mornings free, and Sanderson had no idea what the new girlfriend did during the day but he suspected that she was still in school, and thus had a somewhat more accommodating schedule. Or at least so he hoped for her sake.

Next month: “Awhirl”.
Another great chapter BT3, Loved the back story with Allison. Sanderson is becoming quite the player, first Jenn, then Beatric, and Cassandra is always looming over Sanderson hoping he'll ravage her lol. It will be intresting to see the escape play out. SHout out to BT3 keep Cassandra around for awhile longer i lover her character . . .althought i don't see her lasting past the escape and maybe give the back stroy to Mouse. Great job and well worth the wait. Can't wait till the next chapter and the next book
ReplyDeleteThanks! And I'll see what I can do about Cassandra...
Deleteinteresting. wonder what Cassandra is going to do. So far she clearly runs the show with the Pig- but does she or has she just accepted her life at this point. She cares for Mouse to a degree.
ReplyDeleteClearly Jenn plans on escaping with Sanderson. But why tell Mouse? Is she planning on taking her with them? In the Charlie story on Charlies and Sara (if i remember) leave.
“Clearly Jenn plans on escaping with Sanderson. But why tell Mouse? Is she planning on taking her with them? In the Charlie story on Charlies and Sara (if i remember) leave.”
DeleteMouse mostly figured it out on her own. She tends to fade in the background, so people forget she's there. And yeah, the discrepancies with the Charlie story. Interesting...
Thanks! And don't worry—we'll learn more about Mouse in #49.

ReplyDeleteSo we now begin to see the great escape taking shape. The idea of doing it during one of the parties is a sound one. There will be people coming and going and keeping track of everyone will be difficult. Leave it to Jenn to come up with it. Given the complication of Cassandra knowing that something is going on makes the escape even more interesting. It will be interesting to see if Mouse tells Jenn of Cassandra’s knowing. We also see that there is another chapter to Jenn’s story. I would think that she will want to send it out before the great escape in order to give Daniel time to find it. Cindy should be monitoring the site. Ever so slowly, we may be starting to see the return of Daniel into the story line. The back story of Allison was interesting and it is nice to have some background. As always and forever repeating, cannot wait for the next installment.

ReplyDeleteSuggested corrections:
My page 4 - "...he could be induced to give Jennie a clean bill of health. Because Jennie was no healthy." was not healthy
My page 53 - "Do you know how I broke?" how I broke her?
Thanks for the comments and the corrections, danny123. And I won't respond because we're in massive spoilers territory.
